Pratesi is an Italian luxury linen retailer, with sets selling for upwards of $1,000. Their sample sale, taking place at 317 W 33rd St, is selling old stock– including sheet sets of all sizes, shams, towels, and more– at discounted prices
A disclaimer right off the bat: given the steep prices the pieces retail for, even after they’re discounted they still number in the hundreds of dollar for sets. While some things, such as small mats and hand towels, run cheaper at around $30, expect to find most products selling for at least $390. While that’s a little steep for me, personally, it’s definitely still better than $1,000– so if you’ve got a craving for luxury linens, be sure to check it out.
The sale has a very short run, and ends today; the showroom is enormous, so there’s still plenty of stock to browse through.

Sleepy Jones is a luxury Pajama brand based in NYC. These offer pajamas for Men, Women and children so finding something for everyone in your family wouldn’t be a problem! The sample sale is location on 260 Fifth Ave, which is known as the Flatiron District. Once inside, I was greeted and a employee pointed me to the area where the clothes were sold. I don’t really wear pajamas , I usually just wear sweats and a hoodie but their selection was fantastic. They had an abundance of different pajama styles, great for yourself or anyone else you are looking for. Since I do wear sweats and shorts to bed most of the time, I was surprised to see a good amount stacked up in both the men’s and women’s sections. $20 dollars for the pants and sweats are a really good deal, especially since the brands retail can range from $150-350 dollars. Maybe I’ve decidedly become a pajama person?
The prices between the sections range from $10 – $70 dollars which is a bargain considering pajamas (depending on the store) usually start at $25-$35 dollars. I didn’t pick up anything yet but I do plan on going back and checking out the shorts and pants they had. I would say give it a try and go into their sale, literally nothing to loose.
It happens sometimes, there’s a sample sale that you really want to go to, but for whatever reason you’re just too busy and just can’t make it. However, there’s still a little hope that you can still snag a deal on that designer clothing.
On my way to a different sample sale in SoHo, I wasn’t paying attention and walked into what I thought was the sample sale I was planning on going to, but boy was I wrong. I ended up at what I like to call the 260 Sample Sale warehouse of past sales. There, they had the leftovers from various of their most recent sample sales, with a pretty full size run, at the price point the sample sales usually get discounted to on the last day, and what I found to be the best thing was that I was alone. This specific location that they have doesn’t get any mention on their social media nor is it even listen on their website, but it is there and a true hidden gem for those who know about it.
When I went they had pieces from Bonobos, Scotch & Soda, Brian Atwood, Ben Sherman, Maiyet, Velvet, Peuterey, Barbara Bui, Elle Sasson, Nest Candles, along with many other brands. So whether you’re a man or woman into fashion, or you’re into the home goods and accessories side of sample sales, this location is perfect for you.
Everyone has their own story of how they first, started going to sample sales. Some just so happen to be walking past one and go in, some walk past incredibly long lines and learn from the people waiting, and some just find them on the internet. I personally learned about them from my best friend Tyler.
Randomly one day, senior year of high school my friend asked me if I wanted to go with him the A.P.C. sample sale after class. I had no idea what that meant, so I asked and he basically just said I could get A.P.C. clothing for super cheap so I agreed and just went along with it. After school that day we walked over to Cobble Hill, to what I thought was a random storefront where we saw an incredibly long line to get in. We waited on that line for about 30 minutes and I complained for the whole wait. I would repeatedly say this better be worth it, I better find something great in there. That day I didn’t get anything, but it did open me up to a new way of shopping, so for me it was worth it.
No matter how you find out about sample sales, or how successful your first sample trip is, it is always a rewarding experience because its an eyeopener into new ways to get clothing that you like for drastically below normal retail price. Before ShopDrop, it used to be so much effort to search for sample sales, but the app compiles all the best ones, and makes the research process so much easier. I am forever grateful for that A.P.C. sample sale!

The Clever Alice sample sale/pop-up shop is hard to describe in few terms; while their stock isn’t enormous, their variety is. Featuring brands such as Heartloom, Blank NYC, Cigno Nero, Art Love, and many more, the sale is the perfect place to pick up discounted pieces from this past spring and summer, and pieces for winter.
My personal favorite part about the sale were the Heartloom fur coats and vests, which retail for around $150; they’re currently on sale for $50. They’re super soft and come in a wide selection of colors and styles. There are some gorgeous Blank NYC skinny jeans– an essential for any wardrobe– between $40 and $50. Cigno Nero jackets are available in a huge array of colors, both leather and suede, starting at $120. There’s also pieces from Art Love, Sweewë, and Porto, to give you an idea of just how many options there are.
Most of the pieces are winter outerwear, though you’ll find some lighter things like Heartloom dresses priced at $35 and sheer Inizio tops priced at just $22. Sizing varies by brand; Cigno Nero has sizes ranging from small to large, while Heartloom tends to be extra small and small. There’s such a wide selection of brands to choose from that you’re sure to find something to like– and at a great discount too!
Attending the Osklen Sample Sale seriously brightened up my entire Friday morning! The creativity, variety, and insanely low prices was so refreshing. Prior to the ShopDrop app, I wasn’t too familiar with the brand. I liked the photo of the clothing on the app and thought, “well the clothing seems interesting enough” not realizing the amazing treat that I was in for!
To start off the clothing itself is insanely beautiful and creative. I felt like I was at my FIT, Fashion Design Exhibition all over again. It had the quirky, creative, and curious aspect to fashion many designers now a days seem to lack. The brand experimented a lot with knits, interesting textures like straw, and unique prints! All the new season clothing was 80% off, which encouraged me to buy their latest printed knit dress! The new Fall collection embodies the season of Autumn and has a very bohemian vibe to it which I absolutely loved!
The sale itself had a lot of variety! They had a lot of creative quiky pieces but also many basics like denim jeans,, and a lot of shoes and accessories. The sale host a wide variety of seasons from pineapple button down tie shirts to warm snuggly sweaters! FOr all my velvet lovers, there was a rack dedicated to velvet dresses, pants, skirts, and skirts! I was obsessed with all the velvet dresses that varied in color and length! Velvet is such a closet staple for the Fall. They also racks filled with basic and fun business casual apparel. The rack transitioned from black trousers to fun printed blouses and dresses which I love! For all my office workers, this sale is great to visit if you need to rack up on some new office looks! They also had a very casual section with tees, shorts, and funky windbreakers! There is seriously something at this sale for every kind of girl!
My absolute favorite part of the Osklen sale was the prices! Just to break down the price list for you:
Casual Dresses: $40, Regular Dresses $60, Blouses $35, Skirts: $30, Jumpsuits $70, Tunics: $15, Pants: $50, Jeans: $20 (but had a rack filled with $10 denim!) Honestly such amazing deals, considering the retail prices to most of these items are $300-$800! 260, which is hosting the sample sale has an additional sale going on, if you buy 2 items you get 15% off and if you buy 3 $25% off!
