The Lud Sample Sale was one of those interesting, down-time winter sales, where you could find items from a contemporary brand at a discount. It’s no jaw-dropping brands at 90% off but it’s something.
The Lud sample sale is located in a basement location, staff is quite sweet, mostly jackets selling for $250-$500, many sizes and lots of fur items. In fact, if you mention ShopDrop at checkout, you’ll get an extra 10% off. Thank us later!

In the past year, Clothingline has been hosting less independent sales and more blowout sales, where leftovers from previous sample sales sell for dirt cheap. To kick off 2019, the sample sale house launched another blowout sale, advertising that most items will be under $35.
We stood in line and checked out the sale to see if the rumors were true. They were. Plenty of contemporary brands selling for $5-$35. EFM, Halston (capped at $35), Eva Franco, Alala (sport bras and leggings for $10)m Schutz shoes for $10 (yes, the most random sizes and styles – and you might never find a 2nd shoe – but still? $10? We’re glad we went).

Bye, Bye Brooklyn! The Kleinfeld pop sample sale has now entered the infamous “6th borough,” New Jersey. The Kleinfeld sample sale popped up in Mill Creek Mall. The space, already designated for evening gown sales as it is a prom dress store, is the perfect place for a bride to be to browse through thousands of dresses with ease. The location was enormous. We checked it out in the evening, and there was only a hand full of shoppers.
We rated the Kleinfeld pop up sample sale an 8 out of 10. There were a ton of beautiful dresses to match any bride’s style. They also had a range of sizes from small to large. Prices started in the $1,000 range and went up to the $5,000 range. You can also shop vails (in a few colors, including back) and beautiful floral and jeweled headpieces. It is worth crossing water and heading to Jersey for this sale. Secaucus is also very close to the Lincoln Tunnel. Buses from Port Authority will drop you off right in front of the mall. This is the to be if you have a big day coming up. Congratulations, and happy shopping!

Since we had a ton of questions about the Manolo Boutique sale, let us clarify. The boutique sale is different from the sample sale. The boutique sale lasts for over a month in the regular store on 54th St. Prices drop gradually. The sample sale takes place for one day in a hotel in NY sometime in May, is cash only and has long lines to get in.
So this is the boutique sale 🙂 so far prices are at 30% off retail. Next dropdown will take place on January 21st. There are lots of shoe options (classics and black), a great variety in size and the staff was quite sweet. If you want to check out the iconic brand at a discount to retail, add the boutique sale to your next NYC trip then.

The Miaou brand, famous for its prints, stylish dresses and bra-tops is hosting a sample sale with clothing up to 70% off. The sample sale featured a range of workwear, outerwear and sportswear – all for under $200. Considering the fact that the brand sells items that start at $300+, the prices are amazing.
If you’re into cute denim crop tops and adorable silk dresses & want to look like Gigi Hadid, this sample sale is one you shouldn’t miss!
Miaou is a celebration of the female form that embodies the modern woman – versatile, iconic, and bold.
Founded in 2016 by Alexia Elkaim, the brand was created out of a personal need for a novel pair of jeans with the perfect fit for her curvy body – something that seemed to be missing in the market. The journey began with denim – primarily focusing on embellishing pants, which quickly turned into a line of matching sets. The fashion label’s unique aesthetic resonates with all women of different shapes, sizes, and cultures. Miaou’s Muses were and still continue to be the designer’s friends, such as Paloma Esser, Jorja Smith, Emily Ratajkowski, and Bella and Gigi Hadid, who have helped cultivate an organic cult following of girls and community of inspiring women that continues to grow each season. With the launch of the highly anticipated Sport collection in 2018, Miaou continues to adapt – growing into a full ready-to-wear collection available at retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman, Brown’s, Kirna Zabete, Nordstrom, and Moda Operandi, among others.

The main reason we love late December is because of the massive discounts that retailers have both online and in-store that make prices almost as attractive as sample sale prices. We’re especially appreciative when it’s absolutely freezing outside and we can shop from the comfort of our own bed without compromising on quality.
Below is a run-down of our most favorite deals. Most of them don’t last more than a few hours, so check them out while they still last!

Right next door to the Kooples store, there was an awesome 3-day Vince sample sale for men hosted by Prive (although not in the regular Chelsea Market location). Although the girls on our team were sad not to get some Vince goodies, the guys were in seventh heaven.
The prices were reasonable for Vince but a bit high for many of our followers (mostly between $50 and $200) plenty of jackets, pants, shirts, sweaters and coats. If you’re a fan of the brand, this was a sale you definitely wouldn’t want to miss.

Finally a sample sale with reasonable prices! The Stila, Artis, Tocca, and Dr. Jart+ sample sale with 260 featured endless items at quality prices. Each brand had their own section which features all their classic items. The Dr. Jart+ area had their face masks and signature skin care products. Tocca had the back section with their signature candles, perfumes, and bath products. The artis showing was less then expected, with mostly sets of brush. The Stila section was the most expansive with eyeshadows, both glitter and matte, foundation, primers, eyeliners, lipstick, highlighter, and lipliner. Out of all of the brands, Dr. Jart+ had the least amount of products. This could be because I went on day 3 of the sale.
While this sale earned a high rating of 9 out of 10 for the variety of products and the ;ow prices, it did loose a point for the congestion. Both times I went, I had to wait in a long, impatient line. The first time is was below 30ºF and the second time it was raining. It certainly ruins the experience when I enter the building soaking wet.

The Hugo Boss sample sale at Soiffer Haskin was extremely organized. Racks were organized by gender and then by side. Thanks to the rigorous crowd control, there was plenty of room to walk around, select items without feeling like a tightly-packed sardine (like in some other places).
The men really got the best end of this one, 75%-80% of the merchandise was for men. It included shoes, blazers, ties, shirts, sweaters, slacks, outerwear so one could go in and get an entire seasons wardrobe worth of clothes. The prices weren’t amazing for the first day – but Soiffer Haskin always slashes prices on every day of the sale. If you like the brand, it’s worth going back a few times throughout the sale to make sure you get the desired merchandise at the lowest possible price.
The hottest items were the ties (priced better at Macy’s) and sweaters which seemed to be flying off the tables. Lots of shoes as well. We love the brand and enjoyed the sale and recommend that you add it to your shopping list.

It’s been a while since I’ve felt this positive about a sample sale. The French Connection sample sale is conveniently located in Midtown. When I walked in the coat check guys were the most attentive and sweet. After chatting them up, I walked to the back and entered the sale. Men’s was first as you walked in. There was a mid-sized section of coats, tops, bottoms, and even $5 ties! If you have to wear ties for work, you can’t beat that! The next, larger room contained women’s. It was the same deal: tops, bottoms, coats, and dresses. There were so many beautiful pieces, but dresses and skirts really caught my eye. Shoes filled the third and final room.
We rated the French Connection Sample sale a 9 out of 10. Yes, it was that good. The clothing was super cute, and the prices were unbeatable! You can use this sale to fill up your closet or mark everyone off your Christmas list. The staff was very sweet and accommodating. Check out the French Connection sample sale. You won’t regret it! Happy shopping!
