Clothingline Sample Sales has their own leftover merch from all the sample sales they run. So, they mix it all together and turn it into the one day Clothingline Blowout sale. We arrived at 10:30 a.m., to the sale that opened at 10:00 a.m., and there was a line down the block. Clothingline is known for not having the best sales. What can people really be standing in line for? Well, they had a few key sales (ex. Theory/Helmut Lang) and then priced that leftover merchandise extremely low. We did an Instagram poll, and most of our users agreed that line was a waste of time.
Thank you to one of our users for reporting from the inside.

The Butter shoe sample sale was… okay, I guess. There was debate on how current merchandise was and on pricing. Their samples were from the current season and regular stock was taken from last year. Most of the items in the store were samples and a U.S. women’s size 7. We had the pleasure of meeting a loyal ShopDrop shopper. She told us that prices really could have been lower. She also noticed seeing the same merchandise for 3 years now. So when are the samples and sock from again?
We rated the the Butter shoe sample sale a 5 out of 10. Like we said, mixed feelings. In addition to the mystery merch., we were a bit sketched out on pricing. So we tried on a pair of booties, and the sales associate told us it was $50. At check out the shoes were all of the sudden $75. Um what… How do your workers not know pricing. The check out girl wouldn’t even budge on pricing. We won’t be going back, but you can decide for yourself. Happy shopping!
PSA: We loved running into a ShopDrop user! If you see us, please come and say hi. We would love to meet you.

The Masion De Papillon sample sale featured their clothing collection along with handbags form Khirma New York. Khrima New York had their new and classic collection on display. You can shop totes, handbags, and evening bags from Khirma New York. Her bags were made from fabulous materials, but still pretty pricey. The discount was large, one bag went from $1,090 to $400, but for a sample sale that’s not a huge name is still expensive. The same bag was offered in white for $150 because it was scuffed. Masion De Papillon featured 100% silk shirts, cashmere pieces, and leather pants. Everything was beautiful and very soft! Silk shirts were $25 – $50 and cashmere and leather ranged from $100 – $300. Still very expensive for a sample sale.
Lauren Checchi’s strengths lie in color! All her bags come in exquisite colors, inside and out. Some of her bags will have will have one color outside and a complementary color inside. Lauren Checchi had purses in all sizes. She even had a super chic laptop bag with smaller pockets inside. If you’re looking to accessorize, you can also pick up card holders and key chains. (Even the puff key chains!) Lauren Checchi used a price list instead of individually pricing items. That’s always a great help!
We rated both sales a 6 out of 10. The merchendise was really great – beautiful and high quality, but they lost points on pricing. We understand the markdown is high, but most sample sale shoppers won’t pay those prices for a non-high ticket item. The designers for each respective brand were present at the sale. This was such a nice touch considering they gave shoppers personal attention, and they have the most knowledge on the brand. They were also all super sweet! Happy shopping!

As I walked up Greene St. to one of the 260 sample sale location, I was preparing myself for a line around the block and an hour wait in the 90° heat. But lo and behold, there was no line and barely any people inside. For such a hyped sale, this emptiness was a welcome surprise, but was foreshadowing for the steep prices. I ,personally, am a fan of the Herve Leger dresses, but know that finding the perfect venue for these bandage dresses can be tricky. You can’t wear them to weddings or any other formal affair and they are generally too much for a night out. So despite all the colors and shapes, the $200 price tag seems too high. But the last Herve Leger sample sale did have lower prices and saw price reductions within two days.
The sale also featured pieces from BCBG runway which were beautiful and less expensive. Both brands had dresses, tops, bottoms, jackets, and furs represented at the sale. The BCBG dresses and tops were very summery and would have to be put away until 2019.
We rated the Herve Leger and BCBG runway sample sale an 8 out of 10 for the beautiful inventory and steep prices.

Here’s our lowdown of the Morgane Le Fay sample sale – if you love the brand and are willing to buy items at full-price, get in line because you’ll love this sale! If you are looking for $30 dresses, this sample sale is not for you. Better stay in bed.
Environment: the storefront on Broome street has big windows. The staff is extremely nice & sweet and there is a small line out the front door (at least in the morning).
Merchandise: The racks are lined with dresses. Tons of bridal options in white, a rack full of red dresses, and plenty of black dresses. We saw a few pastel colored pieces as well. There were plenty of sizes – most of the items we saw were size M. The sale includes samples and stock from a number of seasons.
Prices: prices are between 70% and 90% off retail. We couldn’t find too many things under $200. If you are willing to spend, go for it!

Labor Day Weekend is coming to a close and that means that the discounts at major retailers are dropping further and further in the last few hours! We scoured the internet for the best deals and brought them to you below. Enjoy!
We stopped by the Karolina Mzarlak studio today to check out Karolina Zmarlak, Khirma New York, and Meredith Marks sample sale. With the three brands present, there was plenty of inventory to choose from. From apparel to handbags to furs. The handbags were beautiful ranging from large leather purses to Swarovski crystal encrusted clutches. The ready-to-wear was equally stunning with plenty of pieces for every palette. What particularly stuck out to me was the convertible and reversible items. Many of the clothing options were able to be worn both inside-out and backwards. There were also pieces were the longer sleeve could be fastened into a bow on the back or draped over the shoulder. The clothes could be transformed to satisfy even the wildest imagination.
We rated the sale a 6 out of 10 because of the inventive pieces and the steep prices. While it was reported that the pieces were 75% off, they were still too high for this shopper. But if the prices are no deterrent, make sure to RSVP by emailing, email@example.com, before stopping by!
Who knew a linen company can be so interesting? Well before you head out to the Boll and Branch sample sale, let us tell you a thing or two.
Boll and Branch is a luxury linen company founded by a couple in New Jersey. (Yes, cool things can happen in New Jersey too.) They pride themselves in using sustainable materials, and were the first in the industry to be certified by the Fair Trade Organization. This husband and wife then opened their first and only brick and mortar location in Short Hills, NJ. This isn’t the highlight of their careers. It has been reported that three U.S. presidents, both Bushes and Clinton, have slept on Boll and Brand sheets! Are you ready for the secret? Rumor has it that two former presidents slept on these sheets with their mistresses. Well, I think we can almost positively ID one. *cough* Clinton *cough*
That’s enough story time for now. Let’s chat about the Boll and Branch sample sale. The sale featured a bunch of their bedding, bath towels, robes, and even pj’s. The brand retails between $200 – $500, so markdowns were pretty good. However, we do recommend you wait for further markdowns to try to score the best deal. Boll and Branch offer super plush and comfy sheets. If you’re looking to decorate you bed for your next Netflix binge (or next affair, hey we don’t judge) we’ll see you there. Happy shopping!
