The HardTail Forever sample sale is one of those sample sales from the old days. To shop, you need to go to the brand showroom in the fashion district. You show up with your own bag, and literally stuff it with as many items as you can, because the more items you buy, the lower the cost per item. One item costs $20, while 4 items sell for a total of $50 ($12.5 per item).
Expect to find plenty of workout bras, leggings, stretch skirts and athleisure tops at the sale in small and medium sizes. The sale is cash only so hit up the ATM before you go. As always, photos and prices below. Enjoy.

It’s finally warm outside and we can think of lovely summery things such as going to the beach and getting a tan. That’s why we chose to review the J Rosen swimsuit sample sale. We gave the sale a 9 out of 10 for the following reasons:
Current season stock – the stuff is available now at Saks and Bloomingdales for more than double the price
The staff is really nice and so are the fitting rooms
You can match sizes and styles for tops & bottoms
There are many more reasons, but we’ll let you check it out for yourself. Remember to present the ShopDrop app at checkout to receive your free gift with purchase!

The Jimmy Choo sample sale is really one of the most meaningful moments in sample sale history. And we are extremely excited for the sale to start next week. Below are five tips we collected from pros to ensure that you have the best experience while buying $1,500 shoes for $200.
Plan for a line & RSVP in advance – if you’re heading to the sale on one of the first two days, give yourself a good three hours to stand in line and search for items without pressure. On the bright side, that’s a good time to catch up on emails, make new sample sale friends and like our posts on Instagram! If you haven’t RSVPd yet, do so now by clicking here and entering the code LANCER.
It’s a man’s world. The women’s shoes start at $200 at the sample sale, while the men’s sell for $150, and if you buy two, you get each one for $100.
For the best prices – go back on the last day! (or just go on the last day – this tip is from @lehoarder). There is still plenty of merchandise – yes, even in sizes 37 & 38 and in the last few hours shoes drop as low as $100 per pair. At the Fall sale there was no line on the last day, still plenty of merchandise in every size.
Don’t expect a VIP experience. This is a sample sale and it doesn’t feel like the shoe floor at Bloomingdales or anything like that. Expect to check in your bag, stand in line to get in, in another line to check in your bag, and in another line to check out. The shoes are sorted on tables by size – and are held together by rubber bands.
Dress smart. You will have to check your bag in, so make sure you have pockets to keep your phone & wallet and something that you could try shoes on quickly and easily without hating the way you look.
United Nude is a brand for funky shoe lovers – one shoe is cooler than the next. Heels shaped like fountains sticking out of the halfway point, shoes out of strings, plastic – literally, appropriate for museums and exhibitions. Anyhow, the brand is hosting a NY sample sale, which is pretty cool, considering the fact that the brand has no NY presence otherwise. At retail, most of the shoes cost between $500 and $600. At the sale, samples were $50, $75 & $100 (sizes 36-41), in stock shoes were around $90-$130.
If you’re into unusual shoe styles, check this one out. If not, save your money for the Jimmy Choo sample sale next week – we’re sure you won’t regret it.

You wouldn’t think those three brands would be under one roof, but leave it to 260 Sample Sale to have a Swell, Nest, and Moleskine sample sale. I have to say, it was strange grabbing a water bottle for my mom, a notebook for work, and then randomly picking up a candle all in one place.
The Swell, Nest, and Moleskine sample sale got a 5 out of 10 ShopDrop Rating. The best thing about this sale was the price range. This is my first time leaving a sample sale with 3 items for under $25. Notebooks and Swell bottles started at $10. The Moleskine bags and most Nest products were still pretty expensive. You can get a Wood Wick candle at Bed Bath and Beyond for $25 and it will smell nice and burn evenly. The store layout was very strange as well, which made it a mad house. People were pushing, shoving, and getting annoyed if you stood somewhere too long. Even the 260 staff was was noticeably getting frustrated with the crowd. They would say “excuse me” really loud with an attitude as they made their way across the store. The shopping experience was really awful. I could’t wait to get out of there.
If you’re looking for any of these brands for really cheap and don’t mind the madness, then check our the Swell, Nest, and Moleskine sample sale. You can grab a lot at these low prices. I had to wait about 20 minutes to get it. In my opinion, it wasn’t worth the wait. Try to go when there is no line, less craziness, and you will be able to get away with some good stuff!

Marissa Webb became famous after leaving J.Crew to found her own collection in 2013. Since then, the brand ran a number of independent sample sales, and we checked out the one happening on Grand St over the weekend. We gave the sale a 4.5 out of 10 because it was a sample only sale (no stock and therefore no variation in sizes), the store was small and a bit chaotic (people were stripping down in broad daylight) and because prices were still hefty (dresses were selling for $175).
That being said, for people who follow the brand, the Marissa Webb sample sale was a joyous occasion, for the items that were selling were quite beautiful and were still 60% lower than the price at retail. For the future, including photos and prices below. Enjoy!

“You can count on one hand the things a New Yorker will wait for. My list includes: the perfect rent control apartment, the chocolate souffle at Le Bernardin, and the annual Manolo Blahnik sale.” – Carrie Bradshaw
You may or may not have the perfect rent control apartment just yet, but you may have been one of the lucky people to get into the Manolo Blahnik sample sale. If you did, boy did you wait! Lines began forming during the early morning hours. Everyone was given a ticket with a number upon arrival. The number represented what group you were in, and when the Manolo Blahnik sample sale officially opened at 11:00 a.m., they let in group 1 and so forth.
I was lucky enough to be in group 9 going inside at around 11:30 a.m. All the shoes were on tables separated by size. When I got in they had a pretty good selection in size and style. The popular sizes were starting to diminish as time went by. Shoes started at $125 and increased in price depending on embellishments. On the other hand, boots started at $300. Cheap for Manolo, but still pricey for sample sale standards.
I gave the sale a ShopDrop rating of 6.5 out of 10. Like I said the selection was good and prices were decent, but it lost a lot of points for being cash only. Who really carries cash nowadays?! More importantly, who’s carrying around hundreds of dollars?! I really liked this ticket system. There is no dreadful line waiting on your feet for hours. You can even leave the hotel an come back with your ticket. Once you get your ticket you wait in a comfortable, temperature controlled room, with outlets. The only thing missing was WiFi. Even though the Manolo Blahnik team tried to make the sample sale experience more enjoyable, it’s still a Manolo Blahnik sample sale, so it was really hectic inside!
Perhaps I’m being too harsh with a 6.5 rating, since the prices and the selection was good. I also really enjoyed the ticket system. But hey, cash only and the fact that it was so hectic inside… It had me frazzled enough to take off a considerable amount of points.
Looking forward to next year!

We had the opportunity to get a sneak peak of the Shoshonna sample sale early today. The sale is held at their beautiful showroom located in Midtown West. The Shoshanna sample sale had a large variety of tops, bottoms, swim, kids, and especially dresses. The sale features pieces from their regular stock and samples. Most of it is from their spring collection, so you don’t have to wait to show it off! (If this weather ever gets any better…) At the Shoshanna sample sale you can get the perfect dress for any occasion. They had gorgeous summer dresses for a garden party, to evening gowns from their elegant Midnight collection.
We gave the Shoshanna sample sale a 9 out of 10. They had a great ready-to-wear selection with excellent prices. It is definitely worth the trip. But hurry! The sale is only two days! Details and photos below.

If you’re into cozy & high quality pajamas and don’t want to spend $300 on a pair, then you should be shopping for all your sleepwear at the Hanro sample sale. Hanro is a Swiss brand that produces luxury pajamas, robes, night gowns and basics. The items retail for $200-$300. At the sample sale the most expensive items go for $80. The only downside is that the room is too small for all the racks and people within – otherwise, only the best things to say.
