Aside from the fact that you have to wait for an hour and a half to get into the Opening Ceremony sale and then another hour to check out, the sale is amazing and we gave it a 9 out of 10. There is plenty of merchandise: shoes, sneakers, boots, tops, outerwear, sweaters, dresses, skirts and pants. All items selling for 70% to 90% off. We found plenty of great deals for less than $100, and the styles and designs are cutting edge. The sale has plenty of sizes and options for both men and women.

The Dion Lee sample sale was one of the few that got a 9 out of 10 – amazing merchandise at phenomenal prices. Dion lee is an Australian high-end contemporary designer. This was her 1st sample sale in NYC. The prices were solid at $40-$150 that retail for way over a thousand: lots of dresses, a few jumpsuits, knits that cost no more than $60, pants that cost no more than $70, and shirts were $50. This is a brand for the edgy sexy cool girl – definitely a ‘go’!

We checked out the Dreams on Air and found that it had it’s good moments and less good moments, which is why we gave is a 5 out of 10. If you like unique pieces – then definitely go. So the good news is that the pieces were quite unique and interesting: lots of colors, flow materials, and vintage-inspyred styles. While the prices were 80%-90% off, it was still hard to find anything for less than 80%. Photos and details below – enjoy!

We were greatly disappointed by the Misha Nonoo sample sale. While we love the brand itself and the current collection, overpriced ancient samples is not precisely what we were expecting. Items were ooollldddd and looked extremely dated, and prices were only 50% off retail! That’s not sample sale pricing.
If you care about saving time and money and aren’t obsessed with every single Misha Nonoo style, this one is a pass. Stay home and save your money for some of the great sales that are coming up.

As a loyal fan of the Herschel brand, I was over the moon ecstatic to be able to cover the Herschel sample sale 2018! The sample sale was run by 260 sample sales in Soho. After watching the 260 Instagram story, I was expecting the line to be around the block and would take almost an hour to get in. Thankfully that wasn’t the case and I only needed to wait around 5 minutes. The Herschel sale had raincoats, fleeces, luggage, wallets, hats, fanny packs, Ipad cases, and of course, their signature backpacks. As someone who has had the same Herschel backpack for the past 6 years without any signs of wear or tear, I was excited to see the options. There were about five different styles for the larger size backpacks, with an emphasis on darker colors. The sale had many different sizes of backpacks, but they were all grouped together and it was hard to differentiate between sizes. What was surprising was the pricing of the backpacks. The larger backpacks cost the same as the mini-backpacks, which made the mini bags not worth the $34.99.
We rated the Herschel sample sale a 7 out of 10 because of the well-stocked inventory. Let us know what you thought about the sale in the comments below!

Call us stupid, uneducated whatever – but we never heard of the Camilla brand until it was announced that the brand would have a sample sale. We checked out the site, the merchandise and prices and frankly, were not too impressed. The prices were still high. I mean, $220 for a short dress at a sample sale for a brand we never heard of? Come on! The prices at Carolina Herrera were better than that.
Additionally, the beginning of Fall is probably not the time we all want to be buying bathing suits. I am already scouting stores and the web for yummy sweaters and funky boots. So unless you’re an all-around swimmer with never-ending pockets, this one is a no-go.

The JSong Vintage Archive sample sale featured a mixture of ready-to-wear and one-of-a-kind pieces. The sample sale was housed in their NYC HQ in the middle of the garment district. The inventory was arranged on racks by price, which made it easy shop. The detailing on the clothes were spectacular and not like anything else I’ve seen sold in other stores. The pieces were made with a fabulous attention to detail! As the majority of the pieces were samples, the sizes were smaller and there were only one or two pieces by style. What really made the JSong Vintage Archive sale stand out was the attentive staff. From the minute I walked in they were ready to help me with anything I needed!
We gave the JSong Vintage Archive sale a 6 out of 10 due to beautiful inventory and the incredible staff. Make sure to check out this sale before it ends!

All the old wives tales you were told about sample sales manifested at the Calvin Klein sample sale. You walk into this garment district warehouse looking room to complete chaos. Rows of messy tables, racks, and cardboard boxes filled the room. Shoppers frantically search the table of true samples for items that were cute, yet not damaged. You really need to be in the right frame of mind for this.
We rated the Calvin Klein sample sale a 5 out of 10. Prices were INCREDIBLE. Nothing was above $30. You can score Calvin Klein jeans for $10 and tops for $5. *Pause for reaction.* Keep in mind that cheap prices come with a hefty price. You have to sort through so much CRAP before you get to something wearable. True story: we found a shirt with the word “sample” in all caps written with a sharpie on the back. The place was also just way too hectic. The staff members were absolute dolls. You be the judge. Happy shopping!

We traveled off the beat and path to 11th Avenue to check out the Tucker sample sale. The sale was held in a less vibrant, Chelsea Market look-a-like venue. The space was small, but there were quite a few racks and tables filled with men’s and women’s clothing. The advertisements read that the sale was 90% off. Prices started at $45 and went up to $80. That’s pretty pricey for a brand that we’ve never heard of. On the bright, side the stuff was cure!
We rated the Tucker sample sale a 6.5 out of 10. Their strength lied in variety. Almost every pattern can be found in dress, shirt, and skirt form. They had a few boxes with really pretty $20 shirts. (We even snagged one!) Most of the sizing was small or xsmall, but there were a few large items as well. For men, the Tucker sample sale had colorful button downs and flannels. If you are in the area, check out the sale. Hey, you may be willing to break out your passport, travel to 11th avenue, and pay a million dollars for nameless clothing. By all means, happy shopping
