We’ve been to quite a few Rachel Zoe sample sales over the years, so we were very pleasantly surprised to discover this Rachel Zoe sample sale hosted by Eclipse NY in the Meatpacking District. The space was clean and large and well lit. The racks were filled with merchandise that’s prefect for the holidays: full of sequins and shiny materials.
The best news though was the pricing. Items were up to 90% off retail, with $440 gowns selling for as low as $100. We literally couldn’t find a single item over $150. On top of separates and dresses, there was also an amazing selection of shoes.
This sale gets a definite thumbs up for us before the holidays – that’s a 9/10. Drop everything and go.
Set up: The Wolford sample sale’s set up was very organized, and it was easy to find exactly what you are looking for. The room had racks alongside the walls, which were categorized by item and shade. There was one section along the wall, that was specifically bodysuits, thin pullovers, thin tops, and string bodysuits. All of those were packaged in small boxes already. That section categorized each small box by size, and it was easy to find your size as well. There was one rack that was dedicated to embellished bodysuits, dresses, and long sleeved shirts. The rack was very organized and had multiple sizes for each item. There was another rack that was mainly just pants and skirts. The merchandise was in color-coated order, which made it easy to find specific items/colors. There were also two boxes of bras, but they were all just thrown in; the sizing was all tossed in together, so people had to search throughout in order to find their size. There was also a large section of tights- both embellished and plain. There were a lot of great colors for the winter and holidays as well.
Merchandise/ pricing: Wolford’s prices were as follows: bodysuits $60, dresses $75, embellished dresses $125, knitwear $80, pants $75, skirts $40, vegan skirts $75, tanks $45, tops $75, waves camo $15, and cotton skirt $15 (The prices remained a bit high). They had a lot of great merchandise and did not look like they were running out anytime soon. The only negative attribute about this sale was that the cotton skirts and some other merchandise were very creased and looked worn out. Wolford had a lot of amazing quality items as well; there were a bunch of gorgeous dresses that had detailed embellishments. There were fancy pants and casual pants- The pants were in mostly just dark shades. There were also a LOT of colorful tights and plain ones as well. There was a whole corner of the room that was dedicated to just tights! The tights were in a lot of available sizes, and were perfectly labeled to make it easy to find your specific size.
Rate: 6/10 The prices were still pretty high, and some of the items were creased. They had a lot of great items, and it is worth it to go if you need shape-wear, dresses, or pants!

The set up goes as follows: the room was divided in “half” between the men and the women. Each side was then categorized by the specific merchandise. Both sections had ENDLESS amounts of boxes that were labeled with the price. Everything in the room was extremely organized, and it was very easy to find what you were looking for. For the women, there were boxes of scarves, gloves, hats, sweaters, sweatshirts, and robes. Everything was organized in the boxes, and looked brand new. For the men, there were also boxes filled with gloves, hats, scarves, sweaters, and robes. The room was big and not too crowded, so it was enjoyable and fun to shop in.

The prices for the women went as follows: cashmere sweaters $95 (3 for $250), cashmere woven throws $135, fedora felt $30, faux fur scarf $20 (2 for $30), knit cashmere gloves $25 (5 for $100), scarves and wraps $20 (3 for $50), and knit hats with fur pom $40 (3 for $100). The Isaia and Eidos Napoli Sample Sale is the place to stock up on menswear, perfect for the holiday season and maybe even for gifts as well. They have racks of suits, sportscoats and outerwear that you most probably need and some really good discounts. There is an additional 20% off if you buy 3 of the same item.
Shoes are a great deal here, $250 for Isaia and DI Bianco ranges from $278-$398. The sale is also very organized with a lot of merchandise and a pretty good selection. There is also a good selection of bags and leather goods.
Overall, I gave this sale a 6/10, good selection of merch but not too exciting unless you are very familiar with the brand.

The Rag & Bone Sample Sale was a pretty good sale, especially if you are looking for sweaters. They have a ton of sweaters, outerwear, blazers etc and the prices are pretty good (most expensive items are $300). The samples were even better, costing about half of everything else. I think that is your best bet for a good deal, if you are willing to dig through haphazardly thrown items in one small corner.
I was so disappointed by the lack of denim, like they barely had any but I still managed to find two pairs. The shoe selection was ok, not great but you can definitely find something. Beware the crowds though, I waited on line to pay for half an hour so I can only imagine what the rest of the week will be like.
Overall, I gave this sale a 7.5/10. I think the best time to go is at the end of the sale when it’s (hopefully) discounted even more.

I was so looking forward to the Marc Jacobs Sample Sale and was a bit disappointed! The ready to wear was ok in what they had available and the prices were good (80% off!) but I felt that the last sale had a wayyyyy better selection. Lets be real, we all were waiting to what bags they had and I liked what they had but it wasn’t as great as the previous spring’s sale. Bags were all between 60%-70% off which is a pretty good discount.
The runway samples were all 80% off, except finding the prices for them which was difficult to do. Basically, this sale will be great towards the end when (hopefully) 260 will discount everything, then it will be worth the trip.
Overall, 6/10, the selection is good but I can’t help but compare!

Set up: The Stila, Tocca, and Dr. Jart sample sale was a truly pleasant shopping experience! From the extremely organized table displays to the plethora of different kinds of colors, this sample sale hit the “beauty” jackpot! All of the tables were perfectly categorized by both brand and product. All of the items were laid out nicely and were easy to identify. There were fantastic aesthetics around the room, that lit up the entire space. The sample sale was also not too crowded, which made it enjoyable to shop. It was easy to find a specific brand or product that you are looking for, and the staff was also VERY nice and helpful! There were around 2-3 staff members behind each of the tables, and they were more than happy to answer questions.
Merchandise and pricing: There was A LOT of merchandise. It looked as if all of the products were high in stock, and not going to run out anytime soon. Also, all of the products looked very high in quality, and brand new. From sparkly eye shadow to the best scented candles, this sample sale had it all. As far as pricing goes, everything was reasonably priced. For Artis: the elite smoke collection did not exceed $30, the Brushcraft collection ranged from $9-$14, the Elite Mirror collection ranged from $18-$180, and the Fluenta collection ranged from $20-$225. Dr. Jart prices ranged from $1-$28. Now onto Stila: Their prices ranged from $4 to $15; Sponges were $4, concealer and lip coating $5, liquid lip, eye shadow, and lip coating $8, and the brow pencil $9. Lastly, Tocca had A LOT of candles that smelled terrific. Each candle was $18. Tocca had candle scents such as vanilla jasmine, grapefruit melon, and patchouli amber. Tocca also had a ton of different body creams- they had a few tables that were ONLY for the creams! Tocca also had AMAZING options for holiday gifts, such as a 3-in-one set that had creams and fragrances inside. This set was originally $38, and was now $15. The ONLY negative side about this sale was that it was rather difficult to identify the prices of the products. Not every table had the prices written on them, so that led to a lot of customers having to ask for help. There were signs on the wall that said the categories and prices, but it was still rather hard to identify which product went with what category on the list.
Rating: 9/10. There were a lot of beautiful products, and everything was reasonably priced. They had a variety of great options and even had holiday gifts for both friends and family. It is definitely worth going!
