Five days into the J Crew + Madewell sample sale, and things are still in full swing. Stepping into the small entrance off of 5th Avenue, I was immediately struck by how much stock was still left. To say that the selection was plentiful would be an understatement; rows of clothing racks covered the expanse of the warehouse floor, packed with all of the soft linens, bright colors, and chic patterns that make J Crew and all its subsequent brands so well known.
There were plenty of cute shorts and dresses for summer, but I was also happy to see a wide range of winter apparel as well. The sales staff were very competent and helpful, so you know you’ll be taken care of. The only thing I would warn about is the amount of people; it’s such a packed space, on top of being a must-have sale. Its manageable, but you may have to elbow your way through to grab that last paisley J. Crew top or Madewell leather booties. The prices, however, make it all worth it; with tops under $30, dresses under $40, and shoes under $65–on top of the crazy amount of clothing in stock–you’re sure to start your summer season of with a trendy, well made, although crowded, closet.
