Today we stopped by the Karen Miller sample sale at Clothingline. When I first walked in I was immediately impressed! There was plenty of merchandise, which was organized by size. While most of the inventory was quite summery, there was plenty of pants, skirts, and tops which could make the transition from late summer to fall and winter. I did notice some minor damages on a few white dresses, but there were other pieces of the same style.
It was only when I started looking at the more specialty pieces that I started to notice some discrepancies in prices. I had found this beautiful (faux) fur vest that was the last one. While all the signs said that outerwear was $150, the original sales tag from Bloomingdales showed the last selling price of the jacket was $124.99. Okay, so I thought it must have been a mistake. So I found someone who worked at Clothingline and asked them to let me know how much the item would cost, the tag price or the sign price. To my shock, I was told that the vest would be $150 despite to tag price. I understand that for the ease of selling the merchandise, all styles are generally the same price, but for them to sell a piece for $26 more than it was being sold before is insane.
We rated the Karen Millen sample sale at Clothingline an 8 out of 10. While generally the sale seemed to have great deals and plenty of inventory, the discrepancy in prices was ridiculous.
