The APL sample sale started today, but all of the most generic sizes are already sold out. Unless you wear a 5-5.5 or 9.5-11 it is very unlikely that you’ll find anything. I only saw one size 7, and it was the ugliest sneaker I’ve ever seen. The staff members told me that they’re not restocking either, which is a total bummer.
All of the sneakers are $75, unless you’re buying a cashmere pair; those will cost you $95. There are a ton of options as far as colors go, but if you’re looking for neutrals and dark colors they’re few and far in between. But most importantly, I’m disappointed in the discounts. A sample sale price of $75 for a $140 pair of sneakers is just not good enough. I’m not surprised though given that 260 is hosting the sale. Overall I rated the sale a 5/10, and I’m sure you can understand why.
Today we had a chance to get a preview of the La Perla Sample Sale happening at 260 fifth avenue. The La Perla Sample Sale opens tomorrow morning, so if you are in need of some new lingerie for your lover, we recommend you take a look.
The sale featured tons of swimwear, bustiers/garters and classic lingerie. There was a large selection of swimwear, including lots of tops, bottoms and one pieces. While the selection of ready to wear was not great, but if you had the patience to dig through there were some hidden gems. There was a small collection of mens as well as shoes for woman.
Overall we rated the sale a 6 out of 10. First off, the fact that there are no dressing rooms is ridiculous. How are you supposed to buy a bathing suit, dress or bra without trying it on?! The selection of ready to wear was meh and the pricing on everything was still high.
We had the chance to get an early preview of the Frame Sample Saleat 260 Fifth Avenue. The sale officially. The sale officially opened this morning at 10 AM. To start off, Frame makes great jeans as well as some nice tops. We were disappointed to find that there were only six racks of jeans in comparison to last years sale. As well, the prices for the jeans went up an additional five dollars from last year. The sample selection of jeans was limited as well but there were a good selection of tops and outerwear. The saving grace of the sale was the men’s section! Lots of cute chinos and denim for all your men.
Overall, we rated this sale a 6 out of 10. The jeans are $75 dollars down from $295 but there is a limited selection. If any man in your life is looking for a pair of jeans, we recommend you stop by! We are still dreaming about the white jeans with the feathered bottoms and hoping for some reductions in the next coming days.
Today we had an opportunity to preview the Alice and Olivia Sample Sale by Stacey Bendet on 260 Fifth Avenue. Spotted on the many racks of clothing were fresh floral prints, funky paisleys and cool color blocking. All the racks were organized by size then subdivided into different clothing categories. Clothing in nearly every color could be found. The sale featured lots of bright colored blazers, mini dresses and skirts. There were only three racks of sample pieces, which were picked through very quickly. While there was a huge variety of shoes, bags and sunglasses. If you have any need for a killer colored pantsuit (trick question – we all need one) or some quirky cocktail dresses, you should head over to check it out.
Overall we gave the Alice and Olivia Sample Sale a 7.5 out of 10. While we were disappointed with the pricing on a lot of the merchandise, there were some steals to be found – especially on the leather goodies. We recommend you stop by and pear at all the rainbow colored merchandise!
Today we had the chance to checkout the Mara Hoffman Sample Sale downtown at 150 Greene Street. Mara Hoffman known for its bright colors, striped tops and bottoms and swimwear had an abundance of merchandise available.
The swimwear was organized by size making it super easy for everyone to browse through. While the swim was still on the pricey side, having tops for $50 as well as bottoms for an additional $50. There was a huge variety of maxi and midi linen dresses in all different colors and patterns. You could also find a good amount of summer tops, perfect to pair with some jeans or a skirt! The sale also featured a limited amount of Fall/Winter pieces such as turtlenecks, wool pants and overcoats.
Overall we rated this sale a 6.5/10. While the swimwear was split into sizing, making it so much easier for the consumer to pick out there next suit. The prices on the merchandise are still high. The Mara Hoffman Sample Sale as well featured a lot of products limiting to the Spring/Summer season. If you have a casual summer wedding or party planned this summeror you are in need of a cute swimsuit for your next Instagram, should definitely check it out!
Today we had the opportunity to stop by the Montblanc Sample Sale at 260 Fifth Avenue. Known for its fountain ink pens and leather accessories, the Montblanc sale as well had a large variety of cuff links, watches and briefcases. Keep in mind that Montblanc is not cheap. The pricing at the Montblanc Sample Sale was extremely high, having briefcases around $450 and pens starting at $200.
Overall we rated the Montblanc Sample Sale a 5/10. This was heavily based on the fact that the merchandise is still very expensive. As well as having limited variety in briefcases, belts and other leather goodies. Just remember that Fathers Day is around the corner and if your Dad loves Montblanc, you should stop by!
After going to this Rag and Bone sample sale, I still can’t decide whether or not I think the discounts are good. But given that this sale is hosted by 260, I’m not surprised. Regardless of that though, I am satisfied by the large selection of merchandise that they have at the sale.
Firstly, I would like to emphasize how annoyed I was going into this sale. It was raining cats and dogs and there was a line of customers waiting to be admitted to the sale. But despite the torrential downpour, the 260 employees would not let anyone in one second before the posted opening time. They really don’t have any regard for their shoppers over there. When I finally got in after being completely soaked though, I was happy with the amount of merchandise they had
available. There was a really good selection of shoes, pants/jeans, and sweaters, but I was expecting there to be more leather jackets; there weren’t any classic styles, only leather bombers. There was one nice suede biker jacket, but that was it. They had sample jeans and shoes for 50 bucks, and they were actually really cute! Most of the womens sample shoes were a size 37, so if you have little feet, hurry over! They also had a ton of awesome hats for the winter and summer, as well as some cute bags. And another thing I noticed is that most of the products came in small sizes; I saw a lot of XS and XXS, but not a lot of M and L.
A lot of the stuff at this sale is selling for around 70% off retail, but not all of the products are discounted that well. Although the prices look really steep on the price list (which they kind of are) relative to the retail prices, they’re not that horrible. Knowing 260 they’ll slash their prices on the final days of the sale, so if you’re willing to wait it out, I’d say do it. Originally on Instagram I rated this sale an 8/10, but after reevaluating I’m giving it a 6/10, and I’m sure you can all tell why. Happy shopping!

Finally a sample sale with reasonable prices! The Stila, Artis, Tocca, and Dr. Jart+ sample sale with 260 featured endless items at quality prices. Each brand had their own section which features all their classic items. The Dr. Jart+ area had their face masks and signature skin care products. Tocca had the back section with their signature candles, perfumes, and bath products. The artis showing was less then expected, with mostly sets of brush. The Stila section was the most expansive with eyeshadows, both glitter and matte, foundation, primers, eyeliners, lipstick, highlighter, and lipliner. Out of all of the brands, Dr. Jart+ had the least amount of products. This could be because I went on day 3 of the sale.
While this sale earned a high rating of 9 out of 10 for the variety of products and the ;ow prices, it did loose a point for the congestion. Both times I went, I had to wait in a long, impatient line. The first time is was below 30ºF and the second time it was raining. It certainly ruins the experience when I enter the building soaking wet.

Usually, for a popular brand’s sample sale I can understand the high price points. But at the Vivienne Westwood sample sale, the quality did not match the price points. The sale featured mens and women’s apparel, shoes, and accessories. When walking through the apparel racks, I noticed that a large number of the women’s pieces were wrinkled and misshapen. I could be alone is this, but I would never spend $300 to buy a wrinkled blouse. Hopefully this is not a trend that will be seen in the rest of the inventory.
We gave this sale a 5 out of 10 because of the condition of the clothes, the high prices, and the lack of sizing. Many items were the only ones of their style and appeared to be very old. Shopping this sale reminded me of shopping at a second-hand store, but with way higher prices…

Don’t get me wrong, the Maje sample sale was actually pretty good, but it was a madhouse in there! Let’s chat about the sale first, and then we will get to the experience.
We rated the Maje sample sale an 8 out of 10. They had a ton of merchandise, and from what it looked like, there was more downstairs. You should have no problem finding your size. The clothing was also very cute. I wanted to leave there with almost everything! You can shop for every season as well. Coats and sweaters for fall/winter, and dresses and skirts for spring/summer. All beautiful! It gets a little tricky when it comes to pricing. The percentage off was actually pretty good! Most items that were retail $300 – $400 were selling for under $100. You can skip the fur coats. Yes, they went from slightly over $1,000 to $495, but you’re paying over $500 (after tax) for fur coats that are just okay. There are better fur sample sales out there, just hold tight. Mini skirts were another thing to skip. They were all SO cute! However, not so well priced. Pants were priced at $55 (more material), and skirts were priced at $75 (less material). You’re not getting the best bang for your buck. Shorts were also priced the same as pants which require less material than pants as well. Some food for thought.
I don’t know what is going on today, but shoppers were C R A Z Y! As usual, there was a line outside. Even though this wasn’t an iconic, insane 260 line, it must have still driven people nuts. Inside shoppers were pushing and shoving, and no one was apologizing to each other. I must have gotten hit several times. Shoppers were very aggressive when going through the clothing. At one point the 260 staff had to make an announcement to the shoppers reminding them that this is luxury fashion, and asking them not to throw things on the floor. They also had to ask shoppers to put items back in their original location. WOW… I don’t know if there’s a full moon coming up or what.
The Maje sample sale is definitely worth checking out. If you’re not dying for Maje right this second, then wait until the crowds die down a bit and for price reductions. Happy shopping, and may the odds ever be in your favor.
