Caroline Constas Sample Sale is Cute and Colorful

By: Jacqueline Munro

The Caroline Constas sample sale has a lot of cute merchandise for decent prices. I am still dazzled by all of the colorful sequins and fun patterns, but much less thrilled with the disorganization of the clothing and the hectic crowd. If you’re in the area and looking for some cute summer party clothes, I’d say check this sale out. But be prepared to be herded into the dressing room like cattle.

At this sample sale, there is a plethora of cute tops, dresses, and bathing suits, but not as big of a selection of bottoms. Although there were some cute skirts, the pants were few and far in between. In the showroom, there are a lot of samples which is nice because they’re cheaper than the production items. But you better really like something before you decide to try it on; the line is extremely long and they harshly shuffle large groups of women in and out of the dressing room every fifteen minutes. It is quite an unpleasant experience.

Overall I’m giving this sale a 7/10.  It has a lot of cute, on-trend clothing, and the discounts are pretty good. There are so many tops and bikinis that I want, but aside from the fact that my summer body is nowhere to be found, I just can’t bring myself to cough up the cash. If you are willing to pay though, I think that this sale is definitely worth going to.

The Araks Sample Sale is So Disorganized

By: Jacqueline Munro

The Araks sample sale was bad; I’m still disturbed by the complete lack of organization going on in the showroom. And I’m absolutely haunted by the bare feet that were spreading germs around the showroom (I’ll explain, just keep reading).

At this sample sale, all of the merchandise is just tossed into bins which are separated by size. These bins are a complete nightmare to dig through. Additionally, there is hardly any variety in the colors and styles of the pieces, and the sizing is so terrible! The smalls look like they could fit Barbies, and the larges look like they could fit American Girl Dolls. I feel offended on behalf of all of the big busted women out there. While the prices are decent, I still think the brand is ripping its customers. These sample sale prices are what the products should be retailing for! Because trust me, the products are nothing special!

The bare feet though… The area sectioned off to be the dressing room had a carpet in it, so the staff members asked customers to take their shoes off before entering. But some of these customers didn’t put them back on before continuing to shop, nor did they have socks on… GAG! Overall, I’m giving this sale a 4/10. None of the merchandise was cute and the layout was a disaster. I would not recommend going to this sale.

LemLem Sample Sale is LameLame

By: Jacqueline Munro

The LemLem sample sale had me really confused before I knew anything about the brand. To be completely honest, I could never have imagined why anyone would pay so much money for the kind of clothing they sell. But then I did some research and discovered that it is all made by African women who previously had no market to sell their products. This changed my mindset about the brand itself, but I still feel a little iffy about their sale.

At a sample sale for a brand like this, I would expect prices to range from $20-$50. But they are not even close; these products are selling for $65-$250. And anything worth buying is on the higher end of that price scale. Even the kids clothing items were $50 a piece. Although the dresses are pretty cute for the beach, I honestly don’t think they’re worth the money.

Overall, I’m giving this sale a 5/10. For a sample sale, the prices are just way too high. If this clothing line did not support a good cause, this review would be a lot nastier. But if you like expensive beach coverups and are an avid supporter of sustainability, this sale is the right place for you. Otherwise, I’d avoid it.

The Janis Savitt Sample Sale is Every Sale Shopper’s Dream

By: Jacqueline Munro

I cannot stress just how amazing the Janis Savitt sample sale is. If you are in need of jewelry for any reason or no reason at all, this is 100% the place to go… seriously, get off your couch and go to this sale RIGHT NOW.

Although the space is a little small, given that the sale is in an apartment style office, it is well organized and there are several kind, helpful staff members readily available to help in any way you might need. At the sale, there are tons of classic pieces (like the Cobra bracelets) going for extremely low prices starting at $10! I mean, how incredible is that?! There are lots of other cool pieces too; stunning earrings, chic necklaces, and endless drool-worthy bracelets. All of the pieces at this sale are impressively discounted and in great (if not perfect) condition. Prices range from $5-$100+ and each piece is more beautiful than the next!

Overall I’m giving this sale a 9/10. If the space wasn’t so cramped I would definitely give it a 10, but unfortunately, it triggered some claustrophobia. I highly recommend going to this sale if you’re in search of cool jewelry. Don’t worry if your wallet has been light lately because the deals are excellent.

Bag Studio Sample Sale is Drowning in LeSportsac

By Jacqueline Munro:

When I saw the advertisement for this Bag Studio sample sale I was really excited; I mean who doesn’t want to shop for discounted purses on a beautiful spring day? But to be honest, when I got there and shopped around for a bit I was let down. Unless you’re looking to stock up on LeSportsac merchandise, don’t bother going to this sale.

At this sale they had all different kinds of bags; there were plenty of totes, makeup bags, backpacks, wallets, shoulder bags, and even large roller suitcases. I was surprised by the number of products, but the quality of the selection wasn’t that great. I was expecting more French Connection and Christian Siriano to be at the sale, but boy was I wrong. Out of the three rooms at the location, there was only one wall with non-LeSportsac merchandise. The showroom was decently organized, all of the pieces were in great condition, and the discounts were alright.

Overall, I’m giving this sample sale a 6/10. Unfortunately, the cute patterns throughout the merchandise and organization were not enough to excite me. If the pricing was better and there was a greater variety of merchandise, I’d be happy to reconsider. But since those things aren’t going to happen I’d say sit this one out.

The Kiton Sample Sale is For Fancy Folks

By: Jacqueline Munro

The Kiton sample sale severely lacks in options for women, but for men, there is a huge selection of fancy clothing (mostly suits) waiting to be purchased. Ladies, I wouldn’t recommend going to this sale, but guys, if you love Kiton but hate the price tags, head on over!

Everything at this sale is 65% off retail. Shoes, accessories (such as hats, ties, cufflinks), suits, shirts, jeans, and outerwear are neatly organized throughout the space. All of the items are smartly separated by size and category which makes it easier to shop. The suits at this sample sale are gorgeous. The styles range from business chic to funky dad and I obsessed over most of them. Unfortunately, though the selection of shirts is kind of lame and some of the more intricate pieces with sensitive materials (such as suede) are damaged.

Ladies, there isn’t really much to say here. There is one long rack with different kinds of merchandise mixed throughout. A lot of the items are damaged or in poor condition which is really disappointing. There are some really cute pieces though, and everything 65% off retail. The most impressive items are outerwear but there were a couple of cute blouses.

Overall I am going to give this sale a 6/10. I think 65% off retail for Kiton is good, but not on par with typical sample sale deals. Even though it is a top-notch designer, they could do better. I mean look at the Roberto Cavalli sample sale prices! That’s what all sample sale discounts should be like. But I digress; the staff members at this sale were friendly and helpful, and for men, they had a nice range of options. I think if you’re a guy looking for a fancy new suit, you should go; otherwise, stay home.

Lilla P Sample Sale has us Yearning for Summer

Lilla P Sample SaleLilla P Sample SaleLilla P Sample Sale

By: Jacqueline Munro

The Lilla P sample sale is giving off serious summer vibes. There is a ton of merchandise as well as a variety of sizes in order to accommodate your transition from winter to summer bod. If you like Lilla P or Leo and Sage, or just need to prep your wardrobe for spring, you might be interested in checking out this sale.

At the Lilla P sample sale, there are lots of cute pieces. They have plenty of stylish t-shirts, darling matching sets, cozy cashmere sweaters, and various kinds of dresses. They offer a wide range of sizes and the racks are littered with color for those who embrace the beauty of the rainbow.  This sale is perfect for the preppy girl who loves summer. The only downfall is that the prices are a little steep. I feel like $30 for t-shirts at a sample sale is too much.

Overall, I’m going to give this sale a 7 out of 10The location of the sale was lovely, there was a nice array of products, and the staff members were both friendly and helpful. Despite the fact that the prices weren’t jaw-dropping, I felt that this sale still had a lot to offer. If you’re a Lilla P or Leo and Sage fan and feel like you would be satisfied with 60% off, I’d say check this one out.

Bogner Sample Sale Round Two: Meh.

By: Jacqueline Munro

Alright, I’m going to be completely honest here: I was not impressed with the second round of the Bogner sample sale. Unless you’re totally bored or in absolute dire need of some fancy new ski gear, I’d say skip this one.

At the Bogner sample sale, there is a lot of merchandise for both men and women; ski jackets, pants, boots, helmets, and more. There is a nice variety of colors and styles, and even two small racks for children’s items. You’re probably reading this and thinking, “well this all sounds good to me!” But the rest of it is downhill from here.

The markdowns at this sample sale were lame. It felt more like a semi-annual sale than a sample sale. Sample sales usually offer anywhere from 70%-90% off retail, but most of the items at the Bogner sale were marked down to about 50% or less. This really disappointed me; 50% off isn’t that great when you’re buying very expensive items.

Overall I’m going to give this sale a 6/10. I considered giving it a 5 due to the mediocre discounts, but they did have a lot of options and it was really well organized. The staff members were friendly and helpful, and not having to check my coat was kind of nice. But honestly, If I were you, I would sit this one out. Unless you’re ready to drop a lot of cash, this sale is a slippery slope.

Opening Ceremony Sample Sale: To Die For

By: Jacqueline Munro

There is one word to describe the Opening Ceremony sample sale: epic. Whether you’re a girl or guy, looking for edgy streetwear or chic designer labels, there are endless options. For Manhattan natives, it’s a little bit of a pain to get to Williamsburg, but it is definitely worth hitting up this sample sale.

Boys, get excited; this sale is legit. If you like Opening Ceremony, Raf Simons, Adidas, or Kappa you’re in luck. There is an extremely wide range of t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, and pants—all for good prices. The only issue is that most of the sizes are small/medium; there aren’t many large or extra large options. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the shoes! There are lots of different choices; when I spotted the limited edition Adidas collaborations I was shook! Guys, the line might be long but it will be worth the wait.

Alright ladies, your turn! The merchandise they have at this Opening Ceremony sample sale is to die for. Frills, feathers, faux leather oh my! Seriously though, you have to go. There are classy accessories, gorgeous jackets, tons of sweaters, super cute dresses, funky pants, sexy crop tops, and dope t-shirts and sweatshirts. If you are looking to spice up your wardrobe and add some spunk to your life, this sale is just the way. With brands varying from Alyx to Moschino Couture, there is no shortage of sickening style at this exuberant warehouse. And don’t even get me started about the shoes. The Opening Ceremony shoes are awesome; colorful and good quality. You’ll also be able to cop brands like Giuseppe Zanotti, Proenza Schouler, MM6 Maison Margiela and this year’s favorite: Buffalo London. Girls, get your wallets ready cause this one is gonna hurt.

Overall I’m giving this sale an 8/10. The merchandise was awesome and plentiful, the warehouse was super cool, and the prices were impressive. If only Williamsburg wasn’t so far (or should I say if only I wasn’t so lazy). If you’re in need of some cool new clothes at good prices, this is the perfect place for you. Just try to get there ASAP because stuff is going to sell fast. We love you Opening Ceremony sample sale!

Fashion J Mendel Review Sample Sale Sample Sale Review

Good Morning Upper East Siders, I have J Mendel Sample Sale Secret

J Mendel Sample SaleJ Mendel Sample SaleJ Mendel Sample SaleJ Mendel Sample SaleJ Mendel Sample SaleJ Mendel Sample SaleJ Mendel Sample SaleJ Mendel Sample Sale

By: Cristina Martin

Traveling to the J Mendel sample sale is like a scene out of Gossip Girl. Their showroom is nestled on Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side. This isn’t just any showroom… This location is closing down amidst their recent financial issues. So what’s the next logical step? Yes, you guessed, sample sale.

The first floor was filled with fur. This is a brilliant move considering the freezing New York temperatures. However, we don’t know if it sparked many impulse purchases, due to the insanely high pricing. There was one coat for $8,000. That may be sample sale pricing for the Upper East Side, but not for the rest of us. Moving upstairs to the second floor you can find a plethora of floor-length gowns, and a few racks of cocktail dresses. There were very few actual samples. Those will cost you in the $900 range. Everything else will run you $1,700 – $3,000+

J Mendel usually has all beautiful pieces. However, there was nothing we felt like were WOW pieces. Especially for those astronomical prices. There wasn’t a shortage of merchandise, and it was very well organized. If you can afford it, check out the J Mendel sample sale before they join Dan Humphry in Brooklyn.

Xoxo, Happy shopping!
