Frst off, our followers are literally CIA/FBI/Law & Order SVU spies. We had some of our amazing informants catch wind of an Alexander McQueen Sample Sale. Yes, you just read that right, an Alexander McQueen Sample Sale. Just to clear the air, the sale is private (hence invitation required). Here is everything they told us so we could tell you!
There is no other way to say this, but the pricing was literally insane. We heard that there was a good selection of bags this morning but it was cleared out extremely fast. They had the classic skull clutch in a couple of different varieties. The bags ranged from $75 to $300. The shoes were priced all under $100 and that includes boots (excuse me while I cry myself to sleep tonight). Here is the real kicker, tops and bottoms were priced at $50 dollars! While dresses and gowns ranged from $100 to $500 (yup, even runway). We also heard that there was a decent selection of costume jewelry, belts and other accessories. Time to phone a friend and get that invite to the McQueen Sale.
Today we had the opportunity to check out the Zadig & Voltaire Sample Sale at Chelsea Market. I know you are all wondering, didn’t Zadig & Voltaire just have a sale? Yes, yes they did. While we were hoping to see some recent merchandise, we were disappointed to find clothing from 2017.
The Zadig and Voltaire Sample Sale featured lots of classic skull t-shirts, embroidered jackets and cashmere sweaters. While the selection was large, a lot of the products were really old (I’m saying we went to a sample sale in 2017 and this stuff was there). We were also shocked to discover that the sale featured only one pair of shoes and barely any accessories. While we usually look forward to the Zadig and Voltaire sale to score some Parisian inspired clothing, we didn’t love anything we saw. If you are a a die hard fan of the brand and looking to score some chic pieces, them you should stop by.
Overall we rated this sale a 5 out of 10. The pricing generally was meh and the merchandise was extremely old. The lack of the shoes, bags and accessories was also disheartening.
Hello and welcome back to our Sales Styles Series! We are back and this time we interviewed New York based fashionista @the.sales.girl!Sales Girl is a fellow devoted member of the sample sale community in New York City as well as searching every corner of the internet for the best designer deals. If you were to check out her Instagram on any regular day, you would find tons of screenshots of deals online as well as live photos taken from the best sales in NYC.
@the.sales.girl told us she has been shopping at sample sales since college (I mean it’s never too early to get a good deal). While she started her Instagram based on the fact that the only media outlet providing insight on the merchandise was ShopDrop! She felt like there needed to be more coverage on the products at sample sales. Regarding her screenshots of the online deals, she just wants to help out her sale sisters/brothers! Sales Girls said she devotes around a half hour to an hour each day online searching for designer goodies. She said uses a lot of filters for specific designers and said that Barney’s was her favorite (they save your favorite designers – making it that much easier). She also mentioned Cettire having great finds but it is a pain to search through. Her favorite place to shop in-stores is Barney’s Warehouse and she swears by it. @the.sales.girl described herself as “thrifty as f*ck” and we really couldn’t agree more! Check out below to see her answer from quick questions.

Calling all the fashionistas in the New York Tri-State Area! If you haven’t heard, Hermes will be hosting a Sample Sale in two weeks! So you better start saving now or apologizing to your significant other regarding your next credit card bill.
We gathered past intel from some amazing sale ladies to give you a picture of what to expect at the sale. Last Fall, Hermes hosted a Sample Sale at the Americana in Long Island. One of our team members attended the sale and said Hermes began giving out tickets at midnight. Apparently the early bird gets Hermes Twill Scarves and Oran Sandals (I mean you can sleep when you’re dead – at least you will be wearing Hermes).
Past Hermes Sales have had shoes, including the coveted Oran and Thalassa Sandals. While we heard from HolyinMundane that there will be Ready to Wear, but there will be no enamel bracelets or silk scarves (we are literally praying to the sales gods that this isn’t true). Also, the sale does not usually feature bags and home. The question everybody is pondering, what are the discounts like? Generally in the past, shoes and accessories were 50% off and other items ranged from 50% to 70%. Another thing about the Hermes Sale, you do not receive the highly notable orange box. Rather, the merchandise is given to you in plastic/clear bags.
What we remembered most, was the strict no photo policy. At the entrance to the sale, the clerks taped your phone. If you lifted as much as the edge of the tape, there was void printed all over it and security swiftly escorted you out of the sale.
No one timed you, which was great while you were shopping, but sucked while you waited in line. They restocked the merchandise every day.
Will you be attending the sale? If so, then stop by and come say hi to us! ShopDrop will be providing coverage on the Hermes Sample Sale so make sure you check Instagram to get live updates!
Today we had the chance to checkout the Philosophy Designer Outlet Sale in midtown. The sale had a variety of designers including Philosophy, T TAHARI and Catherine Malandrino.
The sale is extremely organized and run by an amazing staff which are ready to help you right when you walk in the door! While we expected the sale to feature lots of merchandise from Philosophy we were disappointed to find out that there was a limited selection. There was tons of T TAHARI dresses and tops as well as a variety of pieces from Catherine Malandrino. There is a large selection of work appropriate clothing at a discounted price.
Overall we rated the sale a 5 out of 10. While there was a huge variety of clothing, the pricing was not great. If you are in need of any work chic clothing that will both be appropriate and impress the office, you should stop by!
The MZ Wallace Sample Sale was really great for anyone who loves the brand, besides waiting on line for over an hour. However, after the first day, there seemed to be no line and there was a price drop! On day 1, solid colored bags went for $100 and printed went for $80 but now solid bags are $80 and printed are $60. What. A. Steal!!!! They restocked the bags so there was definitely something for everyone. Wallets were $60, cosmetic bags were $40 and charms and other miscellaneous items were $20.
There were so many bags to choose from and they were all in boxes in two different rooms, one downstairs and the main room upstairs. The boxes were not organized and everything was everywhere but if you go through the boxes you will definitely find something you like. I was able to snag a large printed backpack for $80 so I highly recommend this sale to anyone.
Overall, I gave this sale an 8/10, lots to choose from so head on over!
Today we had the chance to stop by the Chuckies Liquidation Sale located on 74th and Lexington Avenue. Chuckies is a boutique shoe store with multiple locations across NYC! They carry a variety of designer brands such as Repetto, Alexander Wang, Dior and more!
The sale is organized into different sizing and pricing options. Spotted on these racks were tons of Loeffler Randall sandals from $49 to $129 dollars. There are some drool worthy Alexander McQueen boots for $329 as well as a ton of Repetto ballet flats for $129. While if you have small feet (think size 5.5 & 6) or big feet (think 10 +), you are in luck because there are a lot of options in those sizes. We also spotted some Les Petits Joueurs bags at 80% off!
Overall we rated the liquidation sale a 7 out of 10. While the room is very organized there aren’t that many options for people with size 7 through 9.5. If you are in the area, we recommend you check it out!
Today we had the opportunity to check out the Nanette Lepore Sample Salelocated midtown. The Nanette Sample Sale is hosted in house by the brand and featured some amazing pieces at bargain prices.
The pricing at the sale was a bit confusing and it organized by what was old/new production as well as old/new samples. The staff was very helpful and clarified what was priced at what. There were also two racks that were “specially marked”, one which was $30 and the other at $40. The sample featured tons of lace tops and dresses in various colors. There were some really nice linen pants and dresses – perfect for this summer heat. The racks were organized and there was lots of sizes and stock to be riffle through. If you are in need of a new work wardrobe, look no further.
Overall we rated this Sale an 8 out of 10. There are some really beautiful pieces that can be worn all year round! If you are looking for a dress to wear to a summer wedding or for any special occasion, you should stop by!
Hello and welcome to our new Sales Style Series! Here we will be interviewing some of your favorite fashionistas and sales shopping experts! This past week we had the opportunity to speak with @Luxe_Hunt. If you are not familiar with the user @Luxe_Hunt, she scours every online retailer for the designer deals of the century and links them on her instagram stories. She literally “hunts” for designer goods from Neiman’s to Barneys and everything in-between. If you were to check out her page on any regular day, you would find Balenciaga shoes, Burberry scarves and Prada wallets – all at a steep discount – linked to her Instagram stories. We had the opportunity to ask her some questions regarding her Instagram, how much time she devotes, the sale community and some of her favorite finds!
Luxe_hunt told us that her instagram merely started out as a way to share her great finds with her friends and family. Instead of showcasing her finds, she decided to link the items so others could buy (lucky us)! While Luxe_hunt did not reveal her methods to how she finds all these amazing products, she did disclose that she spends roughly 3 hours a day scouring different sites. The question we were dying to have answered was Luxe_hunt’s thoughts on who has the best sale merchandise. While she explained that sale merchandise goes through different phases. For example, right now in department stores (think Barneys & Nordstroms) they are having discounts as high as 70% off – which is the best you can get. While in the next coming weeks, there will be great discounts at the outlets (think Saks Off Fifth & Nordstrom Rack). Luxe_Hunt also discussed the importance of a Sales Associate and getting them to message you when designer merchandise goes on sale.

Today we had a chance to get a preview of the La Perla Sample Sale happening at 260 fifth avenue. The La Perla Sample Sale opens tomorrow morning, so if you are in need of some new lingerie for your lover, we recommend you take a look.
The sale featured tons of swimwear, bustiers/garters and classic lingerie. There was a large selection of swimwear, including lots of tops, bottoms and one pieces. While the selection of ready to wear was not great, but if you had the patience to dig through there were some hidden gems. There was a small collection of mens as well as shoes for woman.
Overall we rated the sale a 6 out of 10. First off, the fact that there are no dressing rooms is ridiculous. How are you supposed to buy a bathing suit, dress or bra without trying it on?! The selection of ready to wear was meh and the pricing on everything was still high.
