Guilty for spending hours on hours scrolling through the Gilt app? Me too. Guilty for waiting for a sale to start even if it means after midnight and purchasing high end spa offers for your girlfriends and wine tours in the Hamptons for your other half you plan on venturing off with? Same! Gilt, I cannot get enough of your super exclusive, high end, chic sales and countdowns. Guilty and charged right on my credit card, I’m trained, soldier status, for the GILT olympics a.k.a. when you drop an item in the Gilt shopping cart and its reserved for only 10 mins but you already have the game plan down pact and consider nothing an impulse purchase but a strategic game plan on how to confirm your order within 8 mins, giving yourself leeway to choose the appropriate shipping options. Now thats what you call a trusted and credited gal to write here and tell you, this sale is definitely the one you want to be at.
The Gilt sample sale event located at, Industry City, 233 37th Street, Factory Floor, Brooklyn, New York started off with a BANG tonight, making the most out of their sales, it wasn’t just a sale it was a night to remember. They had it all, a convenient check in center for your bags, DJ mixing filling the atmosphere with great music, a station to get your hair done, a wine bar, coconut water refreshers, nutrition bars, and even signature garment bags to dump extremely worthy items into . Tonight, Friday September 15th, the sale took place from 6:30pm-10pm and tomorrow Saturday September 16th, the sale starts at 10am and ends at 6:30pm. I honestly have never seen designer items drop as low as it was marked like this in my entire life. Entire actual life. I mean I’ve seen how low Gilt can go on the limbo stick, when it comes to steeping down a price, but I mean Gilt gets even more flexible at their home.
Starting off with their bags, I think thats what we all hail Gilt for, the options were arrayed on 3 round tables, but it wasn’t the biggest deal. Some Kate Spade handbags, LongChamp totes, Edie Parker clutches, and actually there was a really cute winter grey Proenza Schouler mini purse that I did love with a cute top handle but prices weren’t too crazy. However, the shoes were definitely the affair of the night. From Stuart Weitzman,Christian Louboutin, Guiseppe Zanotti, Diane Von Furstenberg, Alexandre Birman (Below, I snapped the price tag for these red python skin tie-me up’s, originally retailing for $1,680.00 and now $505.00), Schutz, the list goes on and the names were huge. Biggest selection had to be Stuart Weitzman and to give you a hint on the sale, I’m talking from $445- to $125. I took home a pair of Stuart Weitzman for $89, originally $445. Shoe sizes ranged from 5-11 for women and men’s 6.5-11.
You’ll see the longest racks of clothes, longer than the average Nordstrom warehouse sale rack from sizes XS-XL for both women and men. You for sure won’t be able to find the same garment in a different size, the clothing is pretty much a lottery, but its all about luck at these sales anyways! Nevertheless, what I did get my hands on were a pair of 7 For All of Mankind jeans, and even though the denim was the smallest rack in the warehouse, I did find really cute styles and the sizes did vary, which is a good thing! Outerwear and couture dresses neighbored the denim rack and as far as the men’s clothes, lots of button downs, huge selection of outwear, dress pants, jeans, shorts, huge selection. Mens shoes? That was the most organized and neat section of all! HAHA!
Any small details? There was a home section, a kids section and luggage section with personal monogramming available for the leather goods. The dressing rooms to try on were spacious enough to get the job done. The cashier section and lines were really seamless, fast and easy. Side note, they do take away the garment bag and give you huge white shopping bags, but at this point who cares after this great shopping party. I would love to thank Gilt for hosting this great event, and I can’t begin to think what’s being restocked or what new options they are putting out on Saturday. I’m super excited for you all to get your hands on the gorgeous shoes!! I saw women even go home with classic Prada shoes!! Happy Shopping to all!

One of the most exciting sales yet! The Shoe Box has collaborated with 260 5th ave, the hub of all sample sales, tempting us to tower stack our closet shelves with even more shoes. As soon as you enter the sale, you’ll see, 1 pair for $80 and 2 pairs for $140. Any shoe, boot, sandal, flat, classic, sneaker, furry slipper, the list really goes on and yes they really mean any pair for this price! The workers are helpful and theres an area in the back to sit and try on, just be aware you’ll have to leave your belongings with security at the front entrance. The sale offers women sizes ranging from 5-11, keep in mind that not all of the sizes have the same options, however there were enough styles/trendy seasonal options to go around. *Oprah’s voice* “You get a pair! You get a pair!” The crowd goes wild*
I must mention SCHUTZ (average retail at $170 per pump) leading the sale and bringing the real heat to a summers end! As soon as I walked in, I routinely snap pictures of any shoe that catches my eye, and after I make another round looking for all my favorite designers. FYI, SCHUTZ had the largest selection available and shined in all the spotlight:

Other than Lemlem’s apparel showcasing its best of the best highlighter colors on soft linen sheer rompers, dresses, joggers and blouses, I can’t comment enough on how easy the shopping experience was. Everything was spaced out, deserving of their own spotlight and the chart below shows pricing for all accessory lovers 🙂 Upfront in your face like hey, no excuses now, buy me today!
Even though theres no private try on area, the minute you hold up one of Lemlem’s statement pieces in the mirror, the gold jewelry display is right beside you, and all of sudden you lose your marbles, —fair warning. The pictures below scream, I’m not your boring gray sweatpants for the winter, wear me right now. Also, look out for the treasure box with the cute little bralets. Lemlem you have it all covered for the summer!

Descending to the basement of the Katya Dobryakova store on Broome street, we were greeted by a large room, which held the multi-designer sample sale. One thing united all the stands: each one had one-of-a-kind merchandise.
We first chatted with Ariana Boussard-Reifel, who designed the bangles Beyonce wore to the Grammys. Aside from being extremely friendly, her jewelry is stunning! She sells bangles, earrings and rings all made out of metal. Each item is raw and sharp in its design. I couldn’t help myself and bought a pair of gorgeous silver earrings: long oval hoops that instantly made me feel extremely dressed up. All of her items were sold at a steep 80% discount! Yes, that means that items which typically sell for $500 were now selling for $125.
After that we headed to the podium at the back of the showroom, where we discovered the most stunning collection of designer sweatshirts. We had the opportunity to chat with the founder and designer, Katya Dobryakova, about her brand. Unlike most designers, Katya didn’t start her career in fashion, rather, she started in graphic design. Her dream was to transplant the detail of graphics into clothing. And her brand is exactly that. This year’s collection is themed around the circus and her sweatshirts have the most exquisite circus-themed designs. They are all machine-washable, easy to take care of and create a gorgeous effortless look. At the sample sale, they were sold at an 80% discount. So at $100, they were a steal. If you have the time to get to Broome street, do it. You will have no regrets.
For the vintage lovers out there, Marteau was selling some awesome pieces from the 40s in America, Ethiopia and the Middle East. From beads to pearls to knits, there are items for every taste and every budget. There are awesome finds for $25 dollars each! In addition to those designers, there were other items from Alyssa Less, KZ_K, Meredith Marks, Les Savage, Raul Penaranda.

Major trend alert: customization and personalization is ALL the rage in fashion right now. Although it’s recently become more popular, this trend has actually been a favorite of ours for almost a full year!! We clearly can’t get enough of it…in fact it has been one of the major influences of the millennial buying habits in 2016 and is expected to last through 2017 and beyond. Woo-hoo! This makes us very happy 🙂
Want to know what is so special about this trend? Customization allows us to be in control and to be exclusively expressive. More and more fashion brands are incorporating ways to personalize or customize their products in a way to individually cater to their loyal customers, just like us! When something is personalized, or customized, it is made for YOU, and only you. It makes you feel special, feel unique, and it gives you an outlet to (literally) express yourself through your style. This is especially applicable when it comes to millennials, who are the main consumers of these customized pieces. As stated by entepeneur.com, “Millennials want to know a company is paying attention to their specific needs.” (https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/234891) Customization and personalization do just this, they cater to the customer’s specific needs, and this is wonderful for both the customer and the company. It creates a stronger connection and a deeper relationship between the two entities.
Fashion and style already give us a way to express ourselves, but personalization and customization take it to the next level of expression. The individualized aspect of customized pieces makes us, as the customers, feel different from everyone else in the best way, allowing us to truly stand out, and be ourselves – most times, this can be very refreshing, which is why customization is so trendy and in right now. This trend extends beyond the fashion industry, even Coca-Cola cans have added an element of customization by selling cans with specific names instead of the brand name, Coke.
We love to add our personal touch to the things we wear. We love to feel unique, different, and special. Customized pieces are able to make us feel all of these things with just one look. It is clear from this steadfast trend that customization is an effective tactic to enhance sales while making the consumer feel they are getting something special and unique. Customization gives you an outlet to express yourself and allows us to feel different and bold. As stated on fashionista.com, “In an era when brand loyalty is low and demands are high, it makes sense that customization has taken off. Shoppers can design their own Nike sneakers, Brooks Brothers suits, Burberry trench coats and Longchamp bags.” Customization gives the “finicky shopper” a sense of control and a freedom of expression.
Customization is such a secure trend in fashion right now that we are certain it is here to stay. Some many brands are jumping on board with customization and in our opinions, this will create nothing but success for these brands. Customization sets us, as consumers, apart from all of the other consumers out there because it allows us to purchase items can are specifically tailored to our interests and our individual features, even personalities. Customization allows us to be expressive while remaining loyal to our favorite brands! When we customize something, we give it our personal touch, which allows us to be inventive while tailoring items to our wants and needs, and our individual styles. It’s all about control and that is why we are absolutely certain that the customization trend in fashion is here to stay!
Check out the different ways we have customized some of the items in our wardrobes on the blog.
This year has been a turbulent one for the entertainment industry, with Sony and other media giants reporting less than profitable quarters. Nevertheless, we all need some entertainment in our lives and the Oscars still interest us! What we care about even more than who won the award is what people wore to those awards and how they looked. Stay glued on our app to find out when the iconic brands will be hosting sample sales near you!
Emma Stone stole the show with her nude colored gown by Givenchy Haute Couture. Lala land me some of those dresses!
Naomie Harris resembled a bride in the perfect white gown from Calvin Klein By Appointment
Brie Larson wore black made by Oscar de la Renta – simple, classic and timeless.
Charlize Theron shone in her metallic dress from Christian Dior – remind anyone of the Dior advertisement where the model is submerged in liquid gold?
Halle Berry dazzled us all in the striking dress that was custom made for her by Atelier Versace.
As more and more millennials are trading in their high heels for a pair of casual, sporty sneakers, it seems like the athleisure trend is here to stay. Athleisure wear is like a good spray tan; who could tell if it’s from a can or an exotic vacation? So too, no one knows if you’re actually athletic and eat kale salads for lunch everyday, or if you just love the look. But hey, what’s the difference anyway? Tory Burch’s line is known for being slightly preppy, classy yet boho, and can be identified by her classic “T” medallion logo. Who knew it could be this versatile?
The once obsolete Juicy track suits can now be found front and center in Urban Outfitters windows, and the once “boyish” baseball cap is now filling up the shelves of many stores in materials including leather, velvet and corduroy. Tory Burch was not going to be left in the dark.
Tory Sport is Tory Burch’s alter ego: With her second line, she redefines herself with a chic-comfort look that is designed around different sports, including tennis, swimming, golf, running, as well as yoga. Whether you’re a true athlete and want to dress up your look, or want a good motivator to start, Tory Burch remains your go-to brand. Come check out the first ever Tory Sport sample sale!
