The Christian Louboutin Sale was Cute but Costly

By: Eve Orbach

This invite-only Louboutin sale had really beautiful items but prices were still high. Most of the shoes fell along the $300-$400 range. The shoes came in all different styles (booties, HEELS 😍😍😍, flats, etc.) and sizes. Bag straps and perfumes were also available for sale.

At around a 40% discount, the prices were definitely at a significant markdown. If you were in the market for a pair of Louboutins the sale just might be worth to go, but you can honestly find similar priced ones on websites like Poshmark and The RealReal.

The merchandise was organized by size. All of the shoes were still in their boxes and the boxes were stacked from floor to ceiling. Most of the boxes had pictures of the shoes on them, so it wasn’t too hard to navigate. The staff was helpful. All of the shoppers were running around so frantically that observing them was a notable highlight of being there.

The sale was invite only. Even with an invitation, there was still a line.

I give this sale a 6/10 for having such amazing stuff. However, even with the 100% drool-worthy shoes, I wouldn’t recommend trying to weasel your way in without an invitation. You’re better off finding similar deals online instead.

Designer Deals for Less! – ShopDrop Went to the Outlets!

By: Ashley Randall

So last week the ShopDrop team headed all the way to the Woodbury Premium Outlets to check out all the designers digs. So settle down in the air conditioning because we will be sharing all the secrets (going outside in this heat is NOT an option).

First off, if you are not familiar with the Woodbury Premium Outlet, it is a shopping center located roughly an hour of NYC. It  features outlets for designers like Gucci, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Prada and more. It is an oasis for a sale shopper since essentially everything is discounted from original retail prices, while a majority of the merchandise is past season (designer is still designer – right?). I know most of you are thinking, if everything is already discounted when is the best time to shop? The real key to shopping at Woodbury Premium Outlets is to go when stores put an additional discount on their merchandise. These extra markdowns include anything from an additional 20% to 50% off select merchandise. We spoke with several Sales Assistants at different designer boutiques to discover when the additional markdowns will take place. The most common answer we received was around Holiday season (literally just missed Fourth of July RIP). But do not worry! A lot of the designer boutiques mentioned that they would be offering a similar promotion for Labor Day. As well most boutiques mentioned Black Friday holiday deals. Additionally, a lot of Sales Assistants will ship merchandise directly to you (best news ever) and send you alerts when the additional markdowns are taking place. Last off, while the designer boutiques boasted some excellent deals, they couldn’t compare to Barney’s Warehouse which had shoes for 70% off with an additional 50% on top (cue us screaming). The clothes didn’t disappoint either. Shopdrop was also shocked to find that everybody’s favorite it girl brand Zimmerman has an outlet store!

So here are the key takeaways for shopping at the Woodbury Premium Outlets and check out some of the merchandise we spotted (advise we are not responsible for your next credit card bill)

  • Remember everything is already discounted so don’t justify your purchases because “it was on sale” – get what you really need!
  • The additional markdowns (anywhere between an additional 20% to 50%) are only on certain items and happen around Holiday season
  • A lot of sales assistants (but not all) will send pictures if you request them and ship the items directly to you!

Happy shopping my Shopdrop friends!
