It’s a Full Moon at the Maje Sample Sale

Maje Sample Sale

Don’t get me wrong, the Maje sample sale was actually pretty good, but it was a madhouse in there! Let’s chat about the sale first, and then we will get to the experience.

We rated the Maje sample sale an 8 out of 10. They had a ton of merchandise, and from what it looked like, there was more downstairs. You should have no problem finding your size. The clothing was also very cute. I wanted to leave there with almost everything! You can shop for every season as well. Coats and sweaters for fall/winter, and dresses and skirts for spring/summer. All beautiful! It gets a little tricky when it comes to pricing. The percentage off was actually pretty good! Most items that were retail $300 – $400 were selling for under $100. You can skip the fur coats. Yes, they went from slightly over $1,000 to $495, but you’re paying over $500 (after tax) for fur coats that are just okay. There are better fur sample sales out there, just hold tight. Mini skirts were another thing to skip. They were all SO cute! However, not so well priced. Pants were priced at $55 (more material), and skirts were priced at $75 (less material). You’re not getting the best bang for your buck. Shorts were also priced the same as pants which require less material than pants as well. Some food for thought.

I don’t know what is going on today, but shoppers were C R A Z Y! As usual, there was a line outside. Even though this wasn’t an iconic, insane 260 line, it must have still driven people nuts. Inside shoppers were pushing and shoving, and no one was apologizing to each other. I must have gotten hit several times. Shoppers were very aggressive when going through the clothing. At one point the 260 staff had to make an announcement to the shoppers reminding them that this is luxury fashion, and asking them not to throw things on the floor. They also had to ask shoppers to put items back in their original location. WOW… I don’t know if there’s a full moon coming up or what.

The Maje sample sale is definitely worth checking out. If you’re not dying for Maje right this second, then wait until the crowds die down a bit and for price reductions. Happy shopping, and may the odds ever be in your favor.

Sample Sale Review: MAJE

MAJE sample sale in NY

This morning we headed out to the MAJE sale hosted in midtown. The nice part was that there were no lines so we had an easy time getting in. From the first few moments at the sale it is obvious that MAJE is not an American brand. (It’s French). The sizes are European, so you had to translate numbers like 1,2,3 into 4,6,8. The racks at the entry are filled with jackets and tops perfect for the corporate woman. There were long tweed jackets in light pastel and bright pink colors. The designs are clean, chic and classy. Jackets were priced at $145, while tops were at $85. Leather tops and blazers were gorgeous and more expensive. Original prices are north of $500 – so all things considered, the sample sale offers significant bargains.

Toward the back of the store were the dresses – all selling for $105. This is where being a savvy consumer comes in handy. All of the dresses are nice. But at $105, some are nice and some are a steal. There were a number of long-sleeved dresses that can be worn to the office in the summer. A few slimming silhouettes, and some power cocktail dresses. Another awesome perk is that the dressing room was pretty convenient – we could try on dresses, make decisions and be in and out within 20 minutes.

If you have half an hour and can get to the area of 5th Ave and 28th St, we highly recommend you go. Details of the sale are below.
