Loyal ShopDroppers know the importance of being early to sample sales, so we weren’t surprised to see that the inventory at the Scotch and Soda sample sale was slightly picked over. There were still racks left in the plenty of clothes, but it was clear that the early morning crowd had taken the best picks.
We gave the Scotch and Soda sample sale a 7 out of 10. The show room was very large and the staff was extremely friendly. Pricing was decent, but there was limited sizing for men and for women it was the same sizing across the board. The samples seemed to be geared toward early spring weather.

October is right around the corner, and you’ll have to gear up your fall wardrobe! Start at the Kokun sample sale. Kokun is known for their super cozy sweaters. Prices were amazing! Almost everything was below $100. Kokun sweaters are usually $300 – $350 retail. The staff was also extremely sweet. The space was quite small with 8 racks of clothing packed in. You can also search through boxes of $10 sweaters to score the best deal!
Most Sweaters were 100% cashmere. They also had cashmere blended with bamboo to mix it up a bit. Kokun sweaters are great for a day at the office turned into after work drinks. They look great with blazers for those really cold days. You can also use them as a statement sweater with jeans. Check them out to be the best dressed this fall! Happy shopping!

Sample sales are a great way to discover new brands. This week, discover the Dr. Denim sample sale. Dr. Denim is a well established Scandinavian brand that is just starting to make it’s way to the U.S. Currently, you can find Dr. Denim on sale at Nordstrom and Revolve. Before they expand even more in the U.S., check out what’s going on at their sample sale.
In addition to an abundance of denim pants, you can also shop tops, bottoms, dresses, and accessories. The quality of the denim was great! Their jeans had excellent cuts and fit really well. Their non-denim clothing was also super cute! The showroom was small, but it was still nice. Additionally, the staff was also very sweet! Sizes were on the smaller side. We only found jeans between 26 and 31. Checkout the Dr. Denim sample sale, and maybe you’ll start a new trend in your squad. Happy shopping!
Let’s be honest, none of us can really afford an Equinox membership, let alone shop at their store. Well, there is an exception to every rule. The Equinox sample sale is back at 260 Sample Sale. You can choose from an array of men’s and women’s athleisure. The Equinox sample sale included tops, leggings, sweatpants, outerwear, underwear, sport bras, and accessories starting at 50% off. The best deal was on the sport bras. You can steal good quality sport bras for pretty cheap. We even found one for $21! Sport bras also had the largest size variety, considering most of the clothing ran on the smaller size.
We rated the Equinox sample sale a 6 out of 10. It was pouring out this Tuesday, and although I’ve personally seen the store much busier, the 260 staff still kept a small line outside. That is just plain wrong to do that in today’s monsoon! They had some really nice and cozy items from many popular brands. You will definitely be the best dressed on a budget at your next fitness class. They also had some exercise equipment! On the other hand, the sizing ran mostly on the smaller size. The discount could have been a bit higher as well. Our sources told us that 260 will be restocking this week. Let’s also hope for price reductions as well. Happy shopping!
Walking into Clothingline’s Roberto Cavalli sample sale made me feel like I was on set at Animal Planet. Wow! Is the only way I can describe it. (I don’t mean that in a good way.) The clothing was absolutely horrendous! Gowns were lined up against the wall with bright colors, intense beading, and crazy patterns. The racks in the center contained more dresses with beading and beaded fringe. We also found a variety of snakeskin clothing. Vests, dresses, jackets, and skirts contained this reptilian print. We understand animal print is coming back this fall, but I don’t think you really want a snakeskin fringe jacket with matching skirt.
Men’s was no picnic either. The animal theme continued. We now step into the southern Sahara desert to find a men’s suit with lion heads printed on the jacket and pants. You can also shop tops and bottoms of various bright colors, animal prints, and rhinestones among others. Men are actually in better shape at the Roberto Cavalli sale. Men can score undershirts and briefs in all sizes for $15. Additionally, men can pick up leather dress shoes and sneakers for $149.
We rated the Roberto Cavalli sample sale a 3 out of 10. Honestly, the sale lost the majority of its points because of the hideous clothing. Major deductions also came from the pricing. All items were 85% off the MSRP. However, prices were mostly still in the $1,000 range. We didn’t find any women’s items for less than $500. Unless you want to grab some men’s shoes or baics, the Roberto Cavalli sample sale is a hard pass. Stay home on this rainy Tuesday, and save your money for another time. Happy shopping!
This post is dedicated to all the snakes that gave their lives to make this awful sample sale possible… RIP

As someone who basically wears jeans at any and all opportunities, I was excited to stop by the 3 x 1 sample sale today. Before heading over, I had to RSVP for the sale by email. Even though I emailed the night before, I never received a response and just had my fingers crossed that I was good to go. Thankfully, all I needed was an ID to get into the building and head upstairs to the sale.
The showroom while small, had plenty of merchandise to shop. The product, a mix of jeans, shirts, and jumpsuits and dresses was organized by size on racks and by style in boxes. The pieces each had a sticker which marked the price. Prices were $25, $50, $75, $100 with a majority of the denim $50 – $100. These are definitely major discounts from the original selling prices, which are around $235, but the jeans were not cheap. Due to the amount of inventory, the helpful organization, and the steep prices we gave the sale a 6 out of 10. If you’re interested in stopping by, make sure to RSVP by sending an email to wholesale@3×1.us, AND bring your ID to get into the building!

I have a confession to make: I don’t quite get all the fanfare over Diptyque and their products. Sure, they smell nice and come in chic bottles, but their prices are crazy high. I just can’t fathom spending over $35 on something that will not last. Which is why I was excited to stop by the Diptyque sample sale held at Century 21 to see if I could grab a candle at a more reasonable price. The sale opened at 8 a.m, and already at 8:33 a.m., we were receiving information that the there was almost no merchandise left and that the line was around the block. When I stopped by around 12 p.m., there was not much left. While there was a limit of 10 candles per customer, there was mostly Christmas sets and a few bottles of perfume left. There are still two more days left for the sale, but I’m not sure if there will be enough merchandise for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Due to the still high prices and the low inventory we gave the Diptyque sample sale a 6 out of 10. It seems doubtful that there will be price reductions as the merchandise was moving quickly. There were also people at the sale who were obvious resellers. Besides letting them check out 10 items at a time, they weren’t doing much to stop them.
Today we stopped by the Karen Miller sample sale at Clothingline. When I first walked in I was immediately impressed! There was plenty of merchandise, which was organized by size. While most of the inventory was quite summery, there was plenty of pants, skirts, and tops which could make the transition from late summer to fall and winter. I did notice some minor damages on a few white dresses, but there were other pieces of the same style.
It was only when I started looking at the more specialty pieces that I started to notice some discrepancies in prices. I had found this beautiful (faux) fur vest that was the last one. While all the signs said that outerwear was $150, the original sales tag from Bloomingdales showed the last selling price of the jacket was $124.99. Okay, so I thought it must have been a mistake. So I found someone who worked at Clothingline and asked them to let me know how much the item would cost, the tag price or the sign price. To my shock, I was told that the vest would be $150 despite to tag price. I understand that for the ease of selling the merchandise, all styles are generally the same price, but for them to sell a piece for $26 more than it was being sold before is insane.
We rated the Karen Millen sample sale at Clothingline an 8 out of 10. While generally the sale seemed to have great deals and plenty of inventory, the discrepancy in prices was ridiculous.

Today we braved the potential thunderstorms to stop by Clothingline’s MB Sample sale for Men. The sale featured different designers like Prada, Versace, Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabana, Roberto Cavalli, and Tod’s. The largest selection was in shoes. There were four different tables all featuring shoes in different sizes. The shoes was a mix of your classic, standard loafers and dress shoes with some WILD animal print high top sneakers and blue Prada sandals (check out the pictures below, the shoes need to be seen…). Also, if you don’t see one in your size, check below the table as there is more. In the back of the sale there were a mix of different shirts. There were Roberto Cavalli polos and graphic tees and boxes upon boxes of Versace dress shirts all $35.
We rated this sale a 6 out of 10 because while it was empty of people and full of pieces, the prices were still pretty high for all the shoes.
