Good news – the Dennis Basso sample sale is opening to the public tomorrow, April 12th.
If you are looking to score some upscale goodies at a price you cannot resist, this sale is for you! Since this sample sale was by appointment only today, there were no lines. We found awesome furs, gowns and clutches for up to 70 percent off.
Original pricing was well over $10,000 and came down to the $600-$2500 range. The kids stuff was TO DIE FOR!!!
Yesterday was the first time I went to check out the Clever Alice Pop-Up, even though the concept store has been around since 2008. Tammie, the owner, collects items from over 5 indie designers, and sells their items for 70% off retail. Among the racks, I found HEARTLOOM – extremely cute jumpers, tops, skirts and dresses – most of them selling for $20. Porto is a clothing designer that takes material from Italy, produces clothes in San Francisco and then sells them. That collection is targeted towards therapists, architects and interior designers. The loose, clean designs sell for over $200 at retail and around $100 at the Clever Alice Pop-up (most items were $90, $110 or $120). Other brands include Chicago-based Suki+Sollaine, Allison, and 2 innovative leather brands.
This is what we call a discovery sale with amazing items for low prices. If you are in the area of West 25th, definitely check it out.

I was excited to check out the LK Bennett sample sale, because the brand is one of Kate Middleton’s favorites and a staple of the British wardrobe. The sale took place in the company office on Madison Ave, the setup nice and relaxed, no lines and (sadly for us) no pictures. Don’t worry though, I took a good look and am including a verbal report below – hope this helps. And I found a picture with some of the items I saw at the sample sale, and priced it accordingly. Enjoy!
Sizes: sizes run small – if you’re usually a size 2, you might want to start with the size 6 rack.
Clothes are divided by size: depending on your size, the merchandise varies. Here is what we saw:
Flats $30, heels $50, boots $80
Special jackets, dresses and shoes for as little as $15 (but very old collections)
To check out the sale, you have till EOD Saturday.

We already knew that Sachin & Babi was one of the best sample sales in NY given the value/price ratio, that’s why we were absolutely delighted to partner with the brand on an early access offering. Over 100 ShopDroppers came to check out the sample sale the night before opening. Most people left with large bags in their hands and smiles on their faces. Samples were over 90% off, with $900 items selling for as low as $75. And stock was over 80% off as well. Considering the extraordinary quality of items, it was hard to leave clothes on hangers. The sale opens to the public today, make sure this one is on your hit list.

All the YOYA brands got together for one massive kids sample sale this week: keep in mind dresses, tops, bottoms, shoes and outerwear are all on sale. Items are mostly for toddlers and the selection of sizes is general. Including a few photos and prices for you to enjoy. See details below – and if you have kids art home, check out the sale.
I had to do a double take the first time I stepped foot into the La Perla boutique on Madison Ave: a set of lingerie was on display for $12,000. While there must be people who are happy to throw away an arm and a leg for a pair of thongs, we were very relieved to shop at the sample sale last night, where most items were close to 90% off. The selection was enormous – lingerie in every size, pjs, RTW, shoes and all sorts of sexy accessories. For the basic pre-priced products, prices ranged from $11 to $75. RTW items were 85% off – the original price tags were colored over, so figuring out the price turned into a bit of a scavenger hunt. The sale opens to the public today. As always, photos and prices below. Enjoy!

One of the hottest contemporary brands is hosting a sample sale in SoHo. That’s right – at The Arrivals NYC sample sale you will find a variety of coats (some for men, others for women, and others in UniSex) for up to 70% off. The lowest cost item I found cost $75, while the most expensive items were $400 after the discount was applied. If you are a huge fan of the brand and are used to paying full-price then you should definitely check out the sample sale before it ends. As always, images & prices below – enjoy!

As 2018 begins, we can’t help but notice that the number of sample sales per week dropped from over 100 to a mere 10-20. True, this is the week of the Holiday itself, perhaps the slowest week of the year. None the less, we’d like to go over the reasons that sample sale season is slower between January and February.
It is cold – people want to stay indoors and shop online – not in physical brick and mortar stores, where they could freeze their *** off waiting in line.
Regular stores have their biggest markdowns during this time of year (think Manolo Blahnik – that is why we covered their 60% markdown here) so sample sales only offer an additional 20%-30% off in that case.
It’s post gifting season. Most New Yorkers are exhausted after shopping for the Holiday season: all the equipment, gifts and festive prep leaves shoppers exhausted – both financially and emotionally.
Jan-March is known as ‘the dead season’ for physical retail across the board!
That is why we decided to cover the Manolo Blahnik 60% markdown taking place in their headquarters in midtown Manhattan. Half the store was on sale, the other half was still selling at full price. Shoes and boots ranges from $205 to $1,000, when retail prices ranged between $600 and $1,600. Items included Summer, Fall and Winter collections with sandals, velvet heels, boots and booties. Styles included both classic and holiday. As always, images & prices are included below. Enjoy.
The Clothingline sample sale is starting today and among the brands at the sale are: M. Gemi, Generation Love and Baby CZ. TO our knowledge, M. Gemi never goes on sale so this is a huge deal.
For M. Gemi, the shoes are for both men and women: flats and loafers are $65-$75, boots & booties $75-$125.
Generation Love – tops, sweaters, sweatshirts $65. Cashmere, jackets, fur, leather, suede $109-$350.
Baby CZ – infants, boys & girls cashmere sweaters $65-$85, cashmere hats, gloves, scarves, $35-$45
Boutique – 65% off original prices

Guilty for spending hours on hours scrolling through the Gilt app? Me too. Guilty for waiting for a sale to start even if it means after midnight and purchasing high end spa offers for your girlfriends and wine tours in the Hamptons for your other half you plan on venturing off with? Same! Gilt, I cannot get enough of your super exclusive, high end, chic sales and countdowns. Guilty and charged right on my credit card, I’m trained, soldier status, for the GILT olympics a.k.a. when you drop an item in the Gilt shopping cart and its reserved for only 10 mins but you already have the game plan down pact and consider nothing an impulse purchase but a strategic game plan on how to confirm your order within 8 mins, giving yourself leeway to choose the appropriate shipping options. Now thats what you call a trusted and credited gal to write here and tell you, this sale is definitely the one you want to be at.
The Gilt sample sale event located at, Industry City, 233 37th Street, Factory Floor, Brooklyn, New York started off with a BANG tonight, making the most out of their sales, it wasn’t just a sale it was a night to remember. They had it all, a convenient check in center for your bags, DJ mixing filling the atmosphere with great music, a station to get your hair done, a wine bar, coconut water refreshers, nutrition bars, and even signature garment bags to dump extremely worthy items into . Tonight, Friday September 15th, the sale took place from 6:30pm-10pm and tomorrow Saturday September 16th, the sale starts at 10am and ends at 6:30pm. I honestly have never seen designer items drop as low as it was marked like this in my entire life. Entire actual life. I mean I’ve seen how low Gilt can go on the limbo stick, when it comes to steeping down a price, but I mean Gilt gets even more flexible at their home.
Starting off with their bags, I think thats what we all hail Gilt for, the options were arrayed on 3 round tables, but it wasn’t the biggest deal. Some Kate Spade handbags, LongChamp totes, Edie Parker clutches, and actually there was a really cute winter grey Proenza Schouler mini purse that I did love with a cute top handle but prices weren’t too crazy. However, the shoes were definitely the affair of the night. From Stuart Weitzman,Christian Louboutin, Guiseppe Zanotti, Diane Von Furstenberg, Alexandre Birman (Below, I snapped the price tag for these red python skin tie-me up’s, originally retailing for $1,680.00 and now $505.00), Schutz, the list goes on and the names were huge. Biggest selection had to be Stuart Weitzman and to give you a hint on the sale, I’m talking from $445- to $125. I took home a pair of Stuart Weitzman for $89, originally $445. Shoe sizes ranged from 5-11 for women and men’s 6.5-11.
You’ll see the longest racks of clothes, longer than the average Nordstrom warehouse sale rack from sizes XS-XL for both women and men. You for sure won’t be able to find the same garment in a different size, the clothing is pretty much a lottery, but its all about luck at these sales anyways! Nevertheless, what I did get my hands on were a pair of 7 For All of Mankind jeans, and even though the denim was the smallest rack in the warehouse, I did find really cute styles and the sizes did vary, which is a good thing! Outerwear and couture dresses neighbored the denim rack and as far as the men’s clothes, lots of button downs, huge selection of outwear, dress pants, jeans, shorts, huge selection. Mens shoes? That was the most organized and neat section of all! HAHA!
Any small details? There was a home section, a kids section and luggage section with personal monogramming available for the leather goods. The dressing rooms to try on were spacious enough to get the job done. The cashier section and lines were really seamless, fast and easy. Side note, they do take away the garment bag and give you huge white shopping bags, but at this point who cares after this great shopping party. I would love to thank Gilt for hosting this great event, and I can’t begin to think what’s being restocked or what new options they are putting out on Saturday. I’m super excited for you all to get your hands on the gorgeous shoes!! I saw women even go home with classic Prada shoes!! Happy Shopping to all!
