The first Herno sample sale has hit the streets of Manhattan. Herno is a hot, up and coming Italian outerwear brand. You can find them right next to Canada Goose in Nordstrom. Now you can find them for 70% off in midtown. They had a large selection of both men’s and women’s coats, sweaters, and furs. At 70% off you can score a coat for a few hundred dollars.
The staff was incredibly sweet, and the space was great for shopping. However, you can expect long lines. They are also only accepting credit cards. Ditch your jacket from last year and head over to the Hanro sample sale for a new model. Winter is coming, and they are saying it’s going to be a cold one! Happy shopping!

Do you think we can squeeze in a few more days of flipflop use in this rather warm October? I think not. The cold might be here to stay, but you can still head over to the Jack Rogers sample sale and cure that nostalgia with some shopping. Jack Rogers is known for their adorable leather sandals. All shoes were $40. Handbags were also $40 and backpacks were $30. If you purchase 4 or more pairs of shoes you get 50% off your entire order. Not a bad deal! The Jack Rogers sample sale also had the cutest little rain booties. If you like to stand out, then red and yellow are for you. If you’re more into laying low, then definitely go for the beautiful power pink ones.
We rated the Jack Rogers sample sale a 7.5 out of 10. It’s a great sale if you’re a fan of the brand. Good prices and lots of great merchandise. Sizes went from 5 to 11, but there was an abundance in size 7. Additionally, you can look through a few bins of clothing for $5, $25, and $45 to see if something suits your fancy. We do have to report that they were having an issue with their credit card machine. Being that the sale is credit card only, they were taking down your credit card information to then charge you later. They did promise to destroy all credit card information once the transaction has been processed. Happy shopping!

The private Lanvin sample sale officially kicked off on Sunday. Since it is a private sample sale you need an invitation to attend. Luckily, we made it inside to report back to you.
The Lanvin sample sale is held in a tiny space, packed with women’s and men’s clothing, accessories, shoes, and people. Prices were incredible! Everything was 80% off with the exception of the gowns which were at 90% off. That is incredible for Lanvin. I loved the women’s jackets and blazers. They were gorgeous! Men’s suits were also stunning. They even received archival pieces directly from France! Accessories consisted mostly of scarves for women and bow ties for men. They also had a pretty large selection of shoes. However, size 38 was going fast! People were inquiring about handbags. According to the sales associate they all went the first day, and they will be expecting a new shipment later this week. So… open to the public any time soon??? We don’t know just yet, but when we do, you will be the first to know. Happy shopping!
We had the opportunity to check out the Paul Andrew sample sale a day before it opened. Let me tell you, If you are a size 37, (roughly 7 in a U.S.) you hit the jackpot! Paul Andrew had a mix of samples, shoes from previous seasons, and shoes that never went to production. You are super lucky if you got to snag a one of a kind pair of Paul Andrew shoes. Prices started at $25 and went up to $250. However, there weren’t many in the $25 price point. We found only two damaged pairs for $25. Boots were mostly at the $250. Flats and heels were between $50 and $150. If you have an extra special event coming up, then you can browse through two tables of beautiful jeweled evening shoes. Men, we didn’t forget about you! (But Paul Andrew is) They are no longer making men’s shoes. Men can grab most shoes for $100!
We also loved the Paul Andrew showroom. It is tucked away on 58th St. between Columbus Circle and the Plaza in a residential building. Very Gossip Girl-esque! In conclusion, you have two days to shop the Paul Andrew sample sale. We recommend you go the first day because inventory is limited, and they are not restocking. Happy shopping!

Usually when I cover sample sales I walk in and wander around looking at the merch and try to take everything in. But this changed at the Robert Marc sample sale; within three minutes of walking in one of the many staff members came over to ask if I needed anything. As someone who has worn glasses since 7th grade, I was definitely interested in what the staff had to say. The staff member immediately starting compiling potential frames which he thought would suit my face and asked me questions about my prescription. I was blown away, this type of attention is not normal for sample sales, this was a luxury experience.
While the prices may be high for pieces, they are still large discounts and glasses are more than just a fashion piece, they can be a medical device. Having high quality glasses is worth the investment, in my opinion. We gave this sale an 8 out of 10. The Robert Marc sample sale featured many luxury brands, including their own, and it well worth the trip!

Loyal ShopDroppers know the importance of being early to sample sales, so we weren’t surprised to see that the inventory at the Scotch and Soda sample sale was slightly picked over. There were still racks left in the plenty of clothes, but it was clear that the early morning crowd had taken the best picks.
We gave the Scotch and Soda sample sale a 7 out of 10. The show room was very large and the staff was extremely friendly. Pricing was decent, but there was limited sizing for men and for women it was the same sizing across the board. The samples seemed to be geared toward early spring weather.

Don’t get me wrong, the Maje sample sale was actually pretty good, but it was a madhouse in there! Let’s chat about the sale first, and then we will get to the experience.
We rated the Maje sample sale an 8 out of 10. They had a ton of merchandise, and from what it looked like, there was more downstairs. You should have no problem finding your size. The clothing was also very cute. I wanted to leave there with almost everything! You can shop for every season as well. Coats and sweaters for fall/winter, and dresses and skirts for spring/summer. All beautiful! It gets a little tricky when it comes to pricing. The percentage off was actually pretty good! Most items that were retail $300 – $400 were selling for under $100. You can skip the fur coats. Yes, they went from slightly over $1,000 to $495, but you’re paying over $500 (after tax) for fur coats that are just okay. There are better fur sample sales out there, just hold tight. Mini skirts were another thing to skip. They were all SO cute! However, not so well priced. Pants were priced at $55 (more material), and skirts were priced at $75 (less material). You’re not getting the best bang for your buck. Shorts were also priced the same as pants which require less material than pants as well. Some food for thought.
I don’t know what is going on today, but shoppers were C R A Z Y! As usual, there was a line outside. Even though this wasn’t an iconic, insane 260 line, it must have still driven people nuts. Inside shoppers were pushing and shoving, and no one was apologizing to each other. I must have gotten hit several times. Shoppers were very aggressive when going through the clothing. At one point the 260 staff had to make an announcement to the shoppers reminding them that this is luxury fashion, and asking them not to throw things on the floor. They also had to ask shoppers to put items back in their original location. WOW… I don’t know if there’s a full moon coming up or what.
The Maje sample sale is definitely worth checking out. If you’re not dying for Maje right this second, then wait until the crowds die down a bit and for price reductions. Happy shopping, and may the odds ever be in your favor.

October is right around the corner, and you’ll have to gear up your fall wardrobe! Start at the Kokun sample sale. Kokun is known for their super cozy sweaters. Prices were amazing! Almost everything was below $100. Kokun sweaters are usually $300 – $350 retail. The staff was also extremely sweet. The space was quite small with 8 racks of clothing packed in. You can also search through boxes of $10 sweaters to score the best deal!
Most Sweaters were 100% cashmere. They also had cashmere blended with bamboo to mix it up a bit. Kokun sweaters are great for a day at the office turned into after work drinks. They look great with blazers for those really cold days. You can also use them as a statement sweater with jeans. Check them out to be the best dressed this fall! Happy shopping!
