One of the hottest contemporary brands is hosting a sample sale in SoHo. That’s right – at The Arrivals NYC sample sale you will find a variety of coats (some for men, others for women, and others in UniSex) for up to 70% off. The lowest cost item I found cost $75, while the most expensive items were $400 after the discount was applied. While we’ve seen the John Paul Ataker sample sale on our app for a few months already, we weren’t sure how it worked until we got over there and checked it out for ourselves. The key to the sale being ongoing is that it takes place at the back of the flagship store on Madison Ave. The racks are lined with current season gowns and separates. All sample sale items are in the back of the store. In terms of variety, all items in the store are meant for evening wear, think charity balls, gala dinners, weddings and parties. There are many designs and sizes. An added bonus is that you the store has a ton of its original fabric. If you like a gown and want to alter it, you can get extra material and work on it later. Items on the sample sale rack start at 50% off and drop all the way down to 90% off retail. The full-price gowns sell for $1,300-$8,000. Sample sale items cost between $150 and $780. The wait ends when the doors to the Alice & Olivia sample sale finally open. The 260 sample sale racks are filled with true samples and overstock. Discounts are up to 80% off. Some of our favorite pieces included jackets and short dresses. We were thrilled to see many sizes as well as many seasons. It’s a bit difficult to get into this one without waiting in line but if you’re really lucky and go during off-peak hours you’ll get in without a wait.

It’s Tuesday and 260 sample sale opens its SoHo doors to shoppers interested in buying items from The Line at 70% off retail prices. The racks are lined with many imaginable goods – this one is definitely overstock. There are few Summer items, and most of the items are for Fall and Winter. Sweaters, jackets, long jackets, jeans, skirts, denim shirts, bags and shoes.

For the first time ever, State Bags is transforming its Broadway showroom into a 2.5 hour sample sale, where knapsack lovers can shop their favorite backpacks for up to 65% off. There are four racks of bags and one shelf. Bags are of different sizes, different materials, and range between $5 to $55 in price. Considering the fact that at retail, State bags easily reach $80 and $85, this sale is a bargain. Plus, it gives you the opportunity to meet brand employees and see the creative process taking place.

Now that the weather is transitioning into cooler temperatures, knitwear is something that we all will be gravitating to these days. At the NY Charisma Sample Sale, you can find all types of Women’s knitwear like t-shirts, dresses, skirts, pullover sweaters, cardigans, pants etc. ranging from $5 to $100 on items that originally retail for $46 to $535. Granted, the selling area is very conservative in space, however, the merchandising of the product allots for the display of a variety of items to shop from price range to garment type. There are a combination of stock items and true samples which are all in great condition. To the right of the selling space, are all samples ($25 and under) and to the left are the current season stock items ($40 and up) which are perfect for consumers who like to buy now and wear now.
