Invitation Only – Jimmy Choo Sample Sale Review

By: Amanda Fontana

The Jimmy Choo invitation-only sample sale took place at the Met Pavillion two weeks ago. The enormous showroom was completely filled with a massive stock ranging from women’s shoes, boots, purses, scarves, sunglasses, belts, and even a selection of men’s shoes. Prices started at $50 and ranged to $450, a massive discount considering Jimmy Choo pieces often retail for upwards of $1,000.

Most accessories were one size, but the shoes had a massive range of sizing. There was also a variety in purse sizing as well, so smaller evening purses were much cheaper. Check out the photos to see a small range of all the products!

The sale was exclusive and required a pass to enter, and the line to get in went around the block– even for press. That said, the wait was definitely worth it; the sale was extraordinarily busy, but the products were all amazing and worth browsing through.

The event only lasted for two days– three, if you include VIP early access– so if you’re interested in attending private sales like this one, be sure to RSVP and follow the instructions on the app! They come and go very quickly, and invitations can be hard to come by if you wait too long. To stay up to date on more exclusive and invitation-only sample sales, be sure to download the ShopDrop App, follow us on Instagram, and add us on Snapchat @shopdropapp!

Oscar De La Renta Sample Sale Review

I woke up today, looking for a sample sale, so I immediately logged onto my ShopDrop app. I noticed the Oscar de la Renta sale right away, but kept my expectations low, seeming too good to be true. There won’t be any stock left, I told myself on the way over, and that’s if you can wait out the long line that has to be there.

Well, dear shoppers, I stand corrected. The Oscar de la Renta sale had an extensive stock of everything, without the crowds of people you typically have to push through when a bigger brand holds a sample sale. Coats, furs, menswear, womenswear, children’s wear; the sale even had a home goods section!

Prices were in the $100+ range, but the pieces on sale were so true to the artistry of Mr. De la Renta, that plenty of stock is definitely worth the splurge.

Check it out! The sale ends October 29!

260 Sample Sale Maura McNulty Sample Sale Review Wolford

Wolford Sample Sale Review

Wolford Sample SaleBy Maura McNulty

On Saturday, my mother was in the city visiting me, so of course the first thing I did with her was check out a sample sale. We looked up sales using the map feature on the ShopDrop app, when she mentioned how much she loves Wolford, so we decided to head over to 260 Sample Sale’s Fifth Avenue location to find some tight tights.

Since it was at the end of the week, the stock was a little picked over, but there were still plenty of hosiery, teddies, and ready-to-wear options to chose from.

Personally, my favorite aspect of the sale was the jewelry; towards the back of the room, there’s a table set up with the most beautiful bejeweled chokers and necklaces. Paired with a silk nightie and some heels, and you’re on your way to looking like Bella Hadid stepping out of Tao and into a sea of photographers.Wolford Jewelry

If you’re looking for a chill sale with some amazing markdowns, make sure to head over to the Wolford Sample Sale at 260 Sample Sale. Head over fast, though; the sale ends tonight (Saturday, 10/21) at 7pm!

By Melissa Atkinson, The Reasonable Style

Everyone must have heard great things about the Milly Sample Sale because after being opened for one day,  customers were still flooding the fitting rooms and perusing through the selection of garments that were available to shop. There are Women’s tops, skirts, pants, dresses, jumpsuits, outerwear & more from the Fall/ Winter collection to stock up on. All items are true samples with limited sizing and there are some irregular items mixed in so be sure to examine your items of interest thoroughly before purchasing. These items ranged from $25 to $149 for apparel, $75 to $105 for handbags and $75 to $195 on shoes from both Milly and Manolo Blanik.

However, that was the past, I have better news regarding prices for you all. For the last 2 days of the sale (today and tomorrow), the prices have been reduced!

Separates are now $15 to $35

Bags are now $50 to $75

Here are some of the items that I spotted at the sale.

Osklen Review Sample Sale Sample Sale Review

Osklen Sample Sale Review

Attending the Osklen Sample Sale seriously brightened up my entire Friday morning! The creativity,  variety, and insanely low prices was so refreshing. Prior to the ShopDrop app, I wasn’t too familiar with the brand. I liked the photo of the clothing on the app and thought, “well the clothing seems interesting enough” not realizing the amazing treat that I was in for!

To start off the clothing itself is insanely beautiful and creative. I felt like I was at my FIT, Fashion Design Exhibition all over again. It had the quirky, creative, and curious aspect to fashion many designers now a days seem to lack. The brand experimented a lot with knits, interesting textures like straw, and unique prints! All the new season clothing was 80% off, which encouraged me to buy their latest printed knit dress! The new Fall collection embodies the season of Autumn and has a very bohemian vibe to it which I absolutely loved!

Osklen_Dress

The sale itself had a lot of variety! They had a lot of creative quiky pieces but also many basics like denim jeans,, and a lot of shoes and accessories. The sale host a wide variety of seasons from pineapple button down tie shirts to warm snuggly sweaters! FOr all my velvet lovers, there was a rack dedicated to velvet dresses, pants, skirts, and skirts! I was obsessed with all the velvet dresses that varied in color and length! Velvet is such a closet staple for the Fall. They also racks filled with basic and fun business casual apparel. The rack transitioned from black trousers to fun printed blouses and dresses which I love! For all my office workers, this sale is great to visit if you need to rack up on some new office looks! They also had a very casual section with tees, shorts, and funky windbreakers! There is seriously something at this sale for every kind of girl!

My absolute favorite part of the Osklen sale was the prices! Just to break down the price list for you:

Casual Dresses: $40, Regular Dresses $60, Blouses $35, Skirts: $30, Jumpsuits $70, Tunics: $15, Pants: $50, Jeans: $20 (but had a rack filled with $10 denim!) Leather (Jackets, bags, etc): $80, Backpacks: 50, Canvas Bags: $30, Coat: $80, Blazer: $60, Wool Jacket: $50, Ballet Flats: $30,  sneakers $40, sunglasses $40, and all jewelry $15! Honestly such amazing deals, considering the retail prices to most of these items are $300-$800! 260, which is hosting the sample sale has an additional sale going on, if you buy 2 items you get 15% off and if you buy 3 $25% off! It can’t get any better than that!

Hurry and check out this sale before it ends this Sunday, September 24!

Eberjey Fashion Maiyet Review Sample Sale

Sample Sale Review – Maiyet & Eberjey

Eberjey Sample Sale NYC

By Maura McNulty

There’s something about shopping for PJs that makes me feel warm inside; it’s probably the idea that I’ll spend most of my time in the clothes lounging around and sleeping. The sale is near NYU, so when it began to rain after class on Wednesday, I took it as a sign to treat myself to luxury loungewear at the Maiyet and Eberjey sample sale at 260’s SoHo location.

260 Sample Sale’s space is huge, so there was plenty of stock, without the claustrophobia that ruins so many sample sale experiences. Plus, it wasn’t as crowded, given that Maiyet and Eberjey aren’t the most commercial brands, so you can really take your time there, feeling the soft fabrics and contemplating whether plum or a dusty teal goes better with your complexion.

There are rows of pajama sets, robes, and lounge wear in the Eberjey racks, which are set up alongside rows of coats, pants, swimwear, and dresses in the Maiyet rows. Gorgeous lace bras, underwear, and boy-shorts line the sides of the store, and there is even a small shoe table in the back. Additionally, they have a rack of Eberjey children’s clothes off to the side, if you need to pick up some cute dresses for a tiny tot in your life.

Prices are fantastic; I was able to make out with a white pajama set, two teddies, and the softest robe in the known world, for just $175, which was a steep discount from the $350 retail value. And, just for fun, I decided to check the retail prices for similar items from Victoria’s Secret: it came out to be a staggering $250.

Prices

The sale ends Sunday, September 17, so make sure to head down there this weekend. Highly recommend going, even if it’s just to check out the soft, silky fabrics. Now, I am off to take another luxurious nap in my new silky sleep attire.

Stay Classy: Morgane Le Fay Sample Sale Review

By Amanda Fontana

Morgane Le Fay is a high-end womenswear retailer, famous for bold designs in classic neutrals. Oversized jackets, ready-to-wear avant-garde gowns, and sheer patterned tops line the racks of this Soho-based store. The Morgane Le Fay sample sale, taking place right at 464 Broome Street, will be open until September 8th. The sample sale is stocked with a variety of pieces from older seasons, and in sizes ranging from extra small to large.

Morgane Le Fay pieces generally retail starting at $1000, so sample sale prices range between $140 for simpler pieces, such as crop tops, to $350 for full-length gowns. Clothes have a focus on a strikingly sharp-cut silhouette, and pieces are made to flatter any body type while maintaining a distinctly modern cut. The iconic sheer tops with delicately subtle patterns are timeless and elegant, ensuring they’ll last for seasons to come.

Though most items are from previous seasons, Morgane Le Fay’s neutral color palettes make it easy to repurpose summer pieces for colder seasons. The store even has a collection of plaid and flannel pieces on sale, which make perfect staples for any casual fall look. The oversized jackets are a must-have for the upcoming winter months, and with the prices steeply discounted from retail, now’s the best time to invest in one.
