Set up: The Stila, Tocca, and Dr. Jart sample sale was a truly pleasant shopping experience! From the extremely organized table displays to the plethora of different kinds of colors, this sample sale hit the “beauty” jackpot! All of the tables were perfectly categorized by both brand and product. All of the items were laid out nicely and were easy to identify. There were fantastic aesthetics around the room, that lit up the entire space. The sample sale was also not too crowded, which made it enjoyable to shop. It was easy to find a specific brand or product that you are looking for, and the staff was also VERY nice and helpful! There were around 2-3 staff members behind each of the tables, and they were more than happy to answer questions.
Merchandise and pricing: There was A LOT of merchandise. It looked as if all of the products were high in stock, and not going to run out anytime soon. Also, all of the products looked very high in quality, and brand new. From sparkly eye shadow to the best scented candles, this sample sale had it all. As far as pricing goes, everything was reasonably priced. For Artis: the elite smoke collection did not exceed $30, the Brushcraft collection ranged from $9-$14, the Elite Mirror collection ranged from $18-$180, and the Fluenta collection ranged from $20-$225. Dr. Jart prices ranged from $1-$28. Now onto Stila: Their prices ranged from $4 to $15; Sponges were $4, concealer and lip coating $5, liquid lip, eye shadow, and lip coating $8, and the brow pencil $9. Lastly, Tocca had A LOT of candles that smelled terrific. Each candle was $18. Tocca had candle scents such as vanilla jasmine, grapefruit melon, and patchouli amber. Tocca also had a ton of different body creams- they had a few tables that were ONLY for the creams! Tocca also had AMAZING options for holiday gifts, such as a 3-in-one set that had creams and fragrances inside. This set was originally $38, and was now $15. The ONLY negative side about this sale was that it was rather difficult to identify the prices of the products. Not every table had the prices written on them, so that led to a lot of customers having to ask for help. There were signs on the wall that said the categories and prices, but it was still rather hard to identify which product went with what category on the list.
Rating: 9/10. There were a lot of beautiful products, and everything was reasonably priced. They had a variety of great options and even had holiday gifts for both friends and family. It is definitely worth going!

At this sale, there is one small rack of beautiful Moncler jackets for up to 20% off. There are several black & navy jackets, some white ones, and a couple of fun pink ones! There was only one long coat and it was black. There were a couple of t-shirts here and there as well, which are fun pieces for spring if we make it through this winter. The Golden Goose sneakers were up to 25% off. There was a nice selection of low-tops; they were all white with neutral colored accents. And finally, the Balmain section small and men’s stuff only. The first-ever Barbour sample sale took place today in their showroom on West 57th, and boy was it a success. The line was two hours long at 11 am; the employees were giving people tickets telling them to come back later in the evening after they restocked. But by 3:00 they had already run out of merchandise to restock with.
I was pleasantly surprised by the number of wax coats that they still had left for men around 4 pm, but there were none left for women. Most of them were in the mid $100s, a little more than 50% off. They also had shirts, sweaters, and other kinds of jackets and coats ranging from $87-$455. For women, most of the styles that I saw were either raincoats or short quilted jackets. They were priced in the mid $100s. There was also a small selection of shirts and sweaters, but nothing that really impressed me. As far as sizing goes, all of the men’s coats were mediums, and the women’s coats seemed like they were all about a s/m. All of the staff members at this sale were super friendly and efficient; I was impressed considering that they were first-timers!
Overall I rated this sale a 6/10. I wish that they had more of a size range and a larger amount of back stock, but overall it was a success.

I had no expectations when walking into the Hanro sample sale, yet somehow I was still let down. When I got off the elevator and headed towards the company’s showroom, I was greeted by changing women who were throwing their “don’t wants” all over the lobby. It was a horrific sight. AND this was a unisex sale so at any point, men could have walked in on them changing… But anyway, the showroom was tiny and packed with racks of pajamas; it was a complete mess. The racks were haphazardly jammed up, and the bras and panties were stuffed into bins that could give an OCD person like me nightmares for weeks!
At this sale, there were lots of different types of PJs including t-shirts, tanks, pants, shorts, and nightgowns, as well as sweaters, bras, and undies. Prices ranged from $15-$100 which in my opinion is absurd. I got pajama pants from the gap that are just as cute and comfortable as any of the ones at this sale, and for less money. If you’re paying this much money for sample sale pajamas, I suggest you go to the doctor and ask them to check if your head is screwed on straight. Overall, I rated this sale a 5/10. Not worth going to unless the Queen of England is going to be seeing you in your PJs sometime soon.
The Cinzia Rocca sample sale was on the penthouse and had a beautiful view. However, it was a true madhouse! It was very busy and crowded with a lot of loud people trying on the clothing. There were only about 4/5 jackets and pants left. The coats were very good quality and looked brand new. The pants were all very bright colors and very cute. As far as pricing goes: orange stickers were $75, green stickers $200, red stickers $300, and blue stickers $25. This sample sale was also CASH ONLY. There were multiple people yelling, “Does anyone have change for a 10? And for a 5?”
Overall I rated this sale a 5/10. I couldn’t even give it a higher score cause there was pretty much no merchandise left- most of the racks are truly empty. Not worth going- skip!!!
Set up: Way before opening the Loveshackfancy sample sale, there was a line out the door. Customers were ready to shop! Loveshackfancy’s racks were perfectly organized by all of the different categories: long dresses, short dresses, sweaters, long skirts, short skirts, etc. The room looked pretty organized before everyone came in, but once they start shopping, I am thinking otherwise. The shopping space also was not big, and didn’t look like it could fit so many people inside. Loveshackfancy used to have their sample sale on the 5th floor of their building, but this year they for some reason couldn’t.
Pricing and merchandise: Loveshackfancy had a lot of good merchandise, but by the looks of all of the customers flowing in, there soon may not be anything left! They had some very beautiful dresses and long skirts. They had a small rack of short skirts and only had 4-5 different types. The pricing was still a little high: long skirts are now $159, short dresses $139, blouses $89, short skirts $99, long skirts $129, sweaters $149, and the love dress $49. Now onto the kids: there was only one small rack that had a few pieces of kids clothing on it. The rack was also on the back room of the floor and was hard to find. There were also no accessories.
After waiting on line for almost two hours outside of the Veronica Beard sample sale today, and then throwing elbows inside for another hour, I am exhausted. I’m gonna save you some reading here and start off with this: WAIT FOR MARKDOWNS.
At this sale, there are tons of gorgeous blazers, suits, skirts, sweaters, dresses, shoes, and accessories. There were some really cute sets as well, but where am I going to wear a matching skirt/blazer set? My mom got two suits and a blazer, but she’s a sucker for Veronica Beard so she wasn’t bothered by the fact that the production pieces were only 70% off retail. In my opinion, that’s just too pricey for this brand. If prices were 80%-90% off, then we’d be talking. But no, and on top of that, the people in this sale were absolutely maddening. They were so rude and aggressive. I’ve never seen people go so crazy over 70% off in my entire life. Sample prices ran from $20-$250 which is what I would have hoped for the production pieces.
Overall, I rated this sale a 5/10. If prices were better and the place wasn’t such a circus I would’ve given it a higher rating. But honestly, I wasn’t expecting anything better from 260. So, ladies, I cannot stress this enough, control yourselves and WAIT. FOR. MARKDOWNS.

I don’t think I’ve seen a “sample sale” this bad in my entire life. The Christopher Fischer sample sale consists of one rack of horrible looking cashmere sweaters, a table of three fuzzy blankets, and a table of pillows. The sweaters cost anywhere from $50-$70, the blankets were $70, and the pillows, varying in sizes, ranged from $20-$60.
There isn’t much else to say about this sale, given that it consisted of less merchandise than my t-shirt drawer. Overall I rated it a 3/10. There is nothing redeeming about it, not even kind staff members. Better luck next time, shoppers.
The Retrofête sample sale starts tomorrow morning and it is going to be AMAZING. I walked into the clean white showroom with low expectations, (hot brands don’t usually have great sample sales) but I was BLOWN AWAY! If you’re a ShopDrop VIP member you’ll be able to attend this sale an hour before anyone else, and if you aren’t there is still time to become one! Download our app to get the special perks now!
At this sale, it seems like there are a million dresses. They have tons of classic styles like the Grace, Gabrielle, Audrey, Ella, and Olya as well as others like the Flora and Denisa. All of the dresses are available in every color of the rainbow and more! The long sleeve mini sequin dresses are $300, the one-shoulder and midi long sleeve sequin dresses are $250, and the sequin slips are $100. I mean, prices like that for a brand this hot are unheard of!!!! In addition to the amazing dresses, there are tons of cute short/top sets, jogger/sweatshirt sets, and other single pieces like skirts, tanks, and blazers. There is also a small selection of shoes and bags which are to die for.
Overall I rated this sale a 9/10. If you don’t go to this sale you’re either a fool or you’re really smart and trying to save money; because trust me, if you go, you won’t be able to leave empty-handed. Good luck, shoppers! I hope you have sick New Years’ plans because this attire is perfect for the occasion.
