Ban.do Sample Sale? More like Band.NO!

By: Jacqueline Munro

The Ban.do sample sale was one of the weirdest, worst experiences of my life. First of all, there was no real price list, all of the items were catagorized by the percantge discount. Now, I’m not dumb or anything,I’m just lazy. And I don’t want to have to do mental math while I’m shopping. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, the discounts weren’t even good! Most of the items ranged from 50%-60% off. I mean that is just disgraceful. Ban.do, we know that this is your first “warehouse” sale, but just some friendly advice here… sample sale pricing is usually around 80% off!

In addition to the crappy deals, the merchandise was just weird. There was hardly any clothing but they had plenty of pool floats and “travel planners”. I mean what is that about? There were ice trays and yoga mats, phone chargers and notebooks, but no shoes! It was also so crowded. The last sale that I went to at 260 5th Ave. that had a line was Rag and Bone. And it wasn’t even as long! I could not believe how packed it was. People were hoarding plastic cups and weird circular bags like it was there job.

Overall I gave this sale a 3/10. I’m so mad that I wasted my time going, and I all I can say is, I hope you don’t make the same mistake I did.

The IRO Sample Sale is FAB.

By: Jacqueline Munro

The IRO Sample Sale is not one you want to miss. It is being hosted by Eclipse NY, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite sample sale hosts. The employees are the nicest you’ll find, and their sales have been knocking my socks off lately.

At the IRO sale, there is a TON of merchandise perfect for the fall. They have so many cute dresses($110-$190), trendy jeans ($90), stylish coats and jackets ($220-$590), fabulous blouses ($85), and sweaters ($120) that will bring a tear to your eye. Additionally, the shoe section ($130-$290) is stocked with boots that are definitely made for walking. The men’s section is also awesome; they have a bunch of options ranging from outerwear to flannels, to chelsea boots. And the best part is that there is no shortage of product or sizes. This warehouse is filled with merchandise, and if you’re able to make it, you will without a doubt find something that you love.

Overall I’m giving this sale a 9.5/10. The discounts are up to 85% off which is exactly where they should be, and the selection is diverse which I think is so important. Whether you have a more eccentric wardrobe or just like to keep things plain and simple, you’ll be able to walk out of the sale with shopping bags on both arms. And lastly, I just want to thank the Eclipse staff for always being so kind and welcoming, you’re the best! Good luck shoppers, even though I know you won’t need it.

Another Great Joie, Equipment, and Current Elliott Sale at 260

By: Jacqueline Munro

Although I hate to praise 260, it’s impossible not to after their second great multi-brand sale this season. I went to their Joie, Equipment, and Current Elliott sale back in May and I was totally blown away. The prices were amazing and there was a ton of cute merchandise which is completely off-brand for 260. Although there were some repeat styles this time around, they did have a lot of new merchandise and the prices remained impressive.

The Joie inventory was defintiely the most stocked at this sample sale. There were tons of tops, jackets, dresses, pants, shoes, and even accessories. The Current Elliott section offered lots of cute, comfy sweatshirts as well as t-shirts, and a minimal selection of stylish jeans. Sadly there wasn’t as much Equipment this time, but they still had plenty of stunning classic blouses for $60 **cue tears of joy**. This is a great sample sale to go to if you want to start prepping your wardrobe for the fall. Overall I rated this sale a 7/10. Unfortunately because the sale is taking place at 260 that inevitably means rude staff members and aggressive crouds which make it a miserable environment to shop in. But other than that, I cannot complain. Definitely hit up this sale, it has become one of my favorites!

The Gant Sample Sale is Classic 260 – BAD

By: Jacqueline Munro

The Gant sample sale is currently going on at 260’s main location, which is quite a drag. I’m sick of dealing with the consistently rude staff and outrgeous prices. Despite the decent merchandise, the discounts sucked. I do not recommend going to this sale unless you’re in dire need of some Gant (which I doubt you are).

At this sale there are a lot more options for men than women. For men there is a huge offering of suits, outerwear, shirts, pants, and shoes. For women there are a some stylish blazers, a few pairs of funky pants, a couple of pairs of trendy shorts, and a minimal amount of shoes. There were some unisex accessories including sunglasses and scarves, but nothing that blew me away. The most shocking thing I saw at the sale was a Harry’s shave kit.

Overall I rated this sale a 5/10. While the selection of clothing that they had was alright, I cannot stress how lousy the prices were. I mean t-shirts were $30… Not today Satan!!!!

By: Ashley Randall

Today we had a chance to stop by the Karolina Zmarlak Sample Sale. The sale featured tons of versatile fall pieces including turtle necks, long sleeve dresses and reversible shearling coats. While the merchandise is completely stunning, the prices are still a little high for our liking. While our ShopDrop users will get an extra 10% off when mentioning our name (oh yeaaaa). August is quickly coming to a close, so you better start stocking up on these fall pieces. We cannot wait for sweater season and we recommend you stop by the sale!

Overall we rated the sale a 7 out of 10. Carolina Zmarlak had beautiful pieces with unbelievable quality but they will come at a higher price point.

The Illesteva Sample Sale will have you Looking like a Celeb in no time

The Illesteva sample sale was held in its showroom downtown in the Canal area. The largest room had 4 tables lined with sunglasses 🕶; designs included the those worn by Gigi Hadid, Kourtney K, Meghan Markle and other celebrities. While the selection was extensive, the prices weren’t nearly as impressive. They ranged from $50 to $180 but the average sunglasses costed $100-$120. I mean, that’s not even 50% off for a lot of the styles.

There was a separate room with handbags ($175), ski goggles, optic glasses and men’s sunglasses. The staff members wanted us to know that the merchandise would be restocked throughout the sale – so there you go, we’ve passed the information on. To be completely honest, we’ve scored Illesteva sunglasses for the same prices in discount stores, so we can’t give the sample sale more than a 6/10.

The Rebecca Taylor Sample Sale is Already Wiped Out

By: Jacqueline Munro

The Rebecca Taylor sample sale was a hot mess, but I was happy with the merchandise and price points. The staff told me that a large crowd came through this morning, which contributed to the disaster of the showroom.

Although the prices increased from the last Rebecca Taylor sale, I still thought they were decent. The discounts ranged from 50% – 80% off which is more than I can say for many of the sales I go to. As far as merchandise goes, there were tons of bottoms and shoes but the tops and dresses were not as plentiful. Most of the shoes were Loeffler Randall which was a pleasant surprise, and they were fifty bucks! I was not as pleased with the employees running this sale as I was with the pricing. There were plenty of staff members in the showroom but they were not helpful and they severely lacked  organizational skills.

Overall I gave this sale a 7/10. I found a bunch of cute stuff that I wouldn’t have gone broke buying, and that made me really happy. But don’t expect to be able to find anything easily, you’re gonna have to do some digging. Good luck, shoppers!

The Gottex Studio Sample Sale Sadly Has No Bathing Suits

By: Jacqueline Munro

The Gottex Studio Sample Sale is taking place on West 39th in a very tiny showroom. If you were hoping to purchase a cheap suit for the last month of summer, you’re not going to be able to; this sale is strictly stocked with their activewear line, X By Gottex.

The price points at this sale are uh-may-zing… Nothing costs more than $20 and the leggings are $15! The only thing that could make it better would be if they gave you everything for free! They had leggings, biker shorts, tees, tanks, sports bras, and joggers ranging in size from XS to XL. Although there isn’t a huge selection everything is cleanly separated by size, and the staff members would be more than willing to help you find something. Overall I rated this sale a 7/10. Although I was slightly disappointed that they didn’t have any swimwear, I couldn’t help but drop my jaw at the discounts. All of the products were really high quality as far as workout clothes go, and everything was very cheap. Definitely hit up this sale  if you’re nothing like me and actually work out! Or if you are like me and wear workout clothes just cause you’re too lazy to put on anything else.

Everything Is Under $20 – The Rachel Roy Sample Sale

By: Ashley Randall

Today we had a chance to stop by the Rachel Roy Sample Sale located in midtown. To say the least, the sale did not disappoint. Nearly every item is under $20 (you can skip your SweetGreen salad today).

The sample sale featured a huge variety of silk tops, midi dresses and slick pants. We were loving the selection of gorgeous chiffon dresses available in different prints like polka dot (pretty woman vibes) and stunning florals (florals for Fall, groundbreaking). While you might be thinking, I don’t need anything. There is a really great selection of merchandise. Let’s be real, if you aren’t broke from the Hermes Sample Sale then you should stop by (you need a dress to match those Hermes shoes, duh). While the sale is not very organized, so you really have to dig through the racks. There is a limited selection of bags, jewelry, bathing suits and shoes available for purchase.

Overall we rated the sale a 7 out of 10. This sale is truly a hidden gem, with everything under $20 it is totally worth it! We recommend you stop by!

The Michelle Waugh Sample Sale will Fulfill all of you fall Wardrobe Dreams

By: Jacqueline Munro

The Michelle Waugh Sample Sale has some of the most beautiful outerwear pieces I’ve ever seen. Although everything is expensive, I understand the pricing because each piece is beautifully made.

I hadn’t heard of Michelle Waugh before going to this sample sale, but I’m thrilled that I discovered the brand today. Her coats are absolutely stunning and the materials she uses are top-notch. I know that the prices are a bit steep but given the quality of the products I’m not surprised. Among the somewhat small selection there was a nice variety of coats and jackets that were all different materials, colors, and sizes. The duster coats were a dream and the cashmere blazers were exquisite. I would kill for one of her pieces, but my bank account is already dead.

Overall I rated this sale a  7/10. Even though the prices were a little too high, the gorgeous merchandise and extremely kind staff members were more than redeeming.
