While some people might have never heard of the Teri Jon brand, for those who care – there is literally no other brand in the world. We got a sneak peak to the sample sale which opens to the public on Sunday. People paid $40 (not $10 per month you folks) but $40 to come in and shop early. And let me tell you, there were plenty of people willing to dish out an extra $40 bucks to shop the Teri Jon sample sale early.
Setup: There were two rooms – one for true samples, one for stock. Dresses hanging everywhere in all different styles. It felt stuffy because there were so many people. They were grabbing clothes right and left and trying the shmotkas on right there and then.
Merchandise: A ton of appropriate dresses, perfect for mothers of the brides. Many Synagogue/Church dresses as well – either with sleeves or of decent (ahem) length. It wasn’t organized by style or anything – so you really had to have the patience to go through every dress on the rack until you found something you liked.
Pricing: The pricing was one of the best aspects of the sample sale. Samples were between $65 for separates and $125 for gowns. Stock prices were higher but still a great discount given retail numbers in the high hundreds. Stock separates started at $70 for separates, up to $150 for daytime dresses and $250 for evening gowns. There was also a clearance rack with items from stock that were priced higher than samples but lower than stock.
