Come Down and Have Some Fun at the Scotch and Soda Sample Sale

By: Cristina Martin

Head over to the Scotch and Soda sample sale, if not for the great deals, but for the eye candy! Since this sale had mostly men’s clothing, there were a quite a few cuties shopping. Anyway… back to the sale. I was very impressed with the Scotch and Soda sample sale. There were a ton of great pieces for both men and women, and for both Summer and Winter. The Scotch and Soda sample sale is being held in their showroom, so the place is rather small and can get kinda hot (no pun intended). There are no formal dressing rooms. You kinda just try stuff on whereever. That’s not so bad when you’re standing around a bunch of shirtless men, but if you are the shy type, wear a bodysuit under your clothing.

The Scotch and Soda sample sale got a 7 out of 10 on the ShopDrop scale. The prices were good (most stuff under $40!) and the selection was great! I docked some points for a disappointing accessories section. They had two plastic bins with a few belts and super random items. Their showroom is also fairly large, but they only sectioned off a small area for the sale. They had the space and could have put more items on sale. That being said, the Scotch and Soda Sample sale is totally worth checking out. Head over to Union Square tomorrow, and maybe you will catch the farmer’s market too! Deets below!

Spontaneous Fashion Show in Union Square Park

Improv Fashion Show in Union Square Park

This Summer is all about celebrating fashion, pride and self confidence. At ShopDrop, where we celebrate affordable high-end designer clothing, we just couldn’t resist. We decided to have a good time, and so we set out to Union Square Park to stage an improv fashion show.

This is how it worked. We showed up in the park with some chalk, drew a ShopDrop logo on the ground and two lines, which marked the ‘runway’. We turned on some music, pulled out some kind bars, donned some awesome sample sale attire, and started walking over to random park guests to ask them if they felt like modeling in our improv fashion show.

Of course, we got a few people who looked at us as if we fell from the moon, but for the most part we created a fun distraction from the stressful life many New Yorkers lead. What was awkward at first became comic relief in the end, and all those who modeled in our show were rolling with laughter by the time they got to the end of the aisle.

‘Special, that’s what I feel,’ said Rich, one of our models. A woman walked down with her two puppies, and a group of friends with flowers rocked the runway as well. We are going to try a bigger improv show in a month. If you want to walk or just be there, shoot us an email at estee@shopdrop.app with the subject line of IMPROV FASHION SHOW.

Happy Happy Holidays to you!
